I said that in reference to the guy who said if they have been cycling this for months, how are these issues just showing up now.

Well, yes, I see your point in that. While it has been said, "there is no weight limit" we all know those seats were built small for a very good reason. That said, I wonder if a few have been able to squeeze in more booty than they had anticipated. Meaning, maxed out the weight limit. I also wonder what the backup capacity is prior to unload. I hope that it is vast.

One description from an evacuee today was that the ride stopped.... and then seconds later moved ahead two inches and stopped and then moved again two inches and stopped permanently. What could that imply. I would think a stop is a stop period. Hmmmm....

I've just read that they are aware of what's causing the problem and it's an easy fix. Didn't hear if this is going to happen overnight and tomorrow it will be fine, or if it will take a day or two, but it seems that Universal is not worried.

--- Update ---

I am not sure, but I think it's a weight issue as previously posted. It seems that they have plans for a big boy seat, but that's not for a few more months. I don't think they anticipated the weight issue entirely in that the vehicles are more sensitive than originally thought.

I hope they're not just putting up this facade of "We got this," just to deviate any rumors of it being something major.

We're away to Orlando on Wednesday. Be visiting IOA at some point in the week.

Like most folks here, kinda hoping for a soft opening, but wouldn't bet on it. However, if it's open and we can get in, I'll take some pics and share as soon as I can.

Hi, Speckles friend here, was talking to her on the phone and she has still has no internet access, her lap top battery is shot...

still she was at the previews today and she was one of the unlucky ones on the FJ when it stopped, was stuck for at least half an hour before she was eval, some lights were put on and she did take some photo's however she was intercepted by security on exit with regard her camera... she did not have too much fun today.....missed a great part of the preview...however they did delete most but by accident not all the photos...?? She wouldn't have minded so much if it wasn't her first experience of FJ and used up a lot of her preview time...

Her one impression today was if you can't get on in previews this island with summer heat and crowds is going to be dysfunctional to get around and simply, in her opinion, compromised intimacy for logical crowd control and experience.

Yeah I've been really curious as to the capacity issue. From what I've read (although I'm a speck on the radar of being up to speed on WWoHP as everyone else here ), the streets and shops were all designed so authentically as to be also very tight and non-crowd friendly. And given Universal's reputation for interpreting "capacity" -- and also considering that 80-90% of the guests in the park on June 18 will be cramming into this one corner of the park -- I'm starting to really wonder what kind of crowd control problems they're gonna have (especially when you add the heat equation). I'm envisioning Potter mosh pits practically .

Thanks for the update! I wish they showed how we will get to the loading area. I could of sworn she said "down" but then the video was over.

It also looks like the preshow areas aren't separated by automatic doors. That stinks because now there is going to be a whole situation about cutting each other in the line.

I've read that the queue is extra wide so that people who wish to straggle can and those who want to walk more quickly to the ride also can.

Before the entrance to what? Do you mean the big hole in the cliff before the entrance? If so, that is an emergency exit tunnel deep within the cliff that connects to the single riders staircase which can also be used as an emergency exit down from the griff common room if necessary. The lockers are on the right after you turn the first corner from the entrance.

She said down because there is a door in the last part of the cue to the unload area which has a staircase down to Filche's Emporium. By that time the ride had been shut down so they were having them exit at the very last moment that they could do so. If he had been able to go a bit further all he would have seen was the sorting hat and then the room of requirement load area.

Outside, approaching the castle before you enter the dungeon, there's that cutout in the rocks that looks explorable

It must be awkward to see Harry, Ron, and Hermione say the same thing 10 times when the ride brakes down, then. . . .

does the single riders line follow the express line or do they do there own thing

basically if one takes the single rider line do they see anything at all or do they go straight to the RoQ?

First, the queues don't look THAT wide (in answer to Bryan's question) thus very little cutting ahead.... and I wouldn't be surprised if they use beam counters to restart the show after a certain number have exited the room (meaning, have most likely seen the show once).
