WDWMagic has reported that the walls are now down in the new phase of Storybook Circus.

I am REALLY unsure of the decision to antique and distress that character cutout so much. It is almost too authentic and looks more like bad upkeep to me. I will bet there were disagreements among the designers.

I agree. It's a slippery slope. An fairly advanced AA would have been nice, but it with the theme of the land you really can't do that (based on how authentic they've been going esp.) Authenticity has been par for the course with Storybook Circus. They've really tried to go for a very authentic recreation in every detail that we've seen.

Agreed completely, Storybook Circus looks good for what it is, but it shouldn't have been done in the first place.

I can see your point about the distressing possibly being mistaken for bad maintenance. I think one way they could have had their cake and ate it too was to make it look as if the peeling paint was revealing a layer of black and white or yellowed antique newspapers or circus posters underneath. It would give the impression that this is a circus that had re-painted over some of its old props. It would be neat if you could even read snippets of some of the old headlines that would reveal some of the 'history' of the circus.

^Here's the link to the rest of the aerial views: http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/fantasyland/news/29sep2012-photos---new-aerial-views-of-the-near-complete-new-fantasyland.htm

Additionally, WDWMagic has posted some photos of what Beast's Castle now looks like with some faux trees installed.

Out of the entire yesterday this impressed me almost the most (World Showcase won out). The area that I saw was so well designed and themed. Out of all the Disney stuff Ive seen lately this was really cool to see!

Today, the new areas of Storybook Circus opened to guests. WDWMagic has posted two photo galleries, one for Big Top Souvenirs and one for the yellow tent that acts as a Fastpass distribution area for Dumbo and Barnstormer. Additionally, there are some tables and chairs set up by food carts.

With all the land taken by that and Pete's Silly Sideshow, which is just another "themed" M&G, we could've had a nice dark ride in there (Mickey's Mad House would've been perfect for the area).

i agree on that front. they don't need a huge tent for something so small. and i like that idea, like a sort of Fun House off the rails or something!

So I just got back from Cars Land. Had that apple drink concoction... it was a COMPLETE knock off of Frozen Butterbeer... but COMPLETELY delicious. The "passion fruit" topping tasted more like pineapple and mixed sooooo well with the apple and the marshmallow flavoring.

The first part I know, the second part I assumed the worst. Glad it's tasty!
