RE:The Dragon. I remain hopeful that there are miscommunications/red herrings and that perhaps this will be something for the grand opening only. To do otherwise would be like PF; shooting the gag before you see the gag.

My very first post. I finally joined. I have been reading all of the forums since I first found the site when looking up some info on the new harry potter construction. I love all the photos and it just makes me so excited to see all the progress and how fast this is getting built. I just became an annual pass holder last year and have only gotten to so far three times this year. I saw the helicopter fund and I will be chipping in some money for some new pictures and video.

Thanks Now I understand better ,I read a bunch of it and found parts very amusing.
IE:

ANIMAL KINGDOM:
There is no mistaking the original weenie that opened with this place. The Tree of Life with its "It's Tough To Be A Bug" show beneath it is the symbol of the park. Now, with the addition of Expedition Everest, the park has two Weenies... hopefully, some time in the next few years they will approve a third weenie. This was written on November 14, 2007

From the Parkscope audio blog. Episode 4- Bridge to Nowhere

Discussing the retaining wall at the WWoHP II as pointed out by our very own Teebin.

"Teebin pointed it out. Every once and a while he's good for something when he's not complaining about bricks and construction techniques"

Don't worry Teebs, we still all love you

Naht a prob. They just aren't interested in the "how". I am. If I screamed and pizzed my pants over dark rides with animatronics, I suppose they would like me better. AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!

I am assuming they'll get a similar look stamping the texture on pored concrete.

Agreed and they probably won't be as deep of cracks between the stones. Cobble stone would be too rough for handicapped and strollers and the last thing I think they want to do is slow down the crowd for those folks having issues. They want to keep people moving in that area since it is so tight.

So i've read a lot of article and posts regarding Universal looking for more land to acquire and also some rumors which honestly seem a bit off about a third park but after watching this great video from the sky it looks like universal has A LOT of land that could be used for its theme park. What do you think if they use the land that is currently the production area and move their video and film production off site. That land along with the land next to MIB and the land they acquired from the Wet n wild deal would add a LOT of realty (My first post) :look:

:welcome: This post probably belongs somewhere else, but no biggie....

As for an answer, many of those buildings that are "production" buildings are not really used for production, they are used for things that are very critical for the day to day running of the park. They are buildings that are needed to be on site so that the park can run. So no, currently they do not have enough land to build a third park.

If they can have a major fire explosion every minute or two in the old jaws ride i'm sure they can have a fire breathing dragon letting out a flame every 30 minutes or so. Just saying. (Would be much better than just a statue)

I do not think we will see anything detached from the existing Potter lands. The train was a unique opportunity, as there was almost a clear path from the backstage sides of both lands. But Potter here, there, and this other place seems like a bit much. I would bet on them upgrading Hogsmede after the added crowds of Phase II start to fade. It may be physically possible for WWoHP to eat more into surrounding areas, but I am not betting on that at this time.

Aside from the plot next to MiB, and the other current or near future projects, Uni would need to rework the existing to make something new. I do want Uni to get more land nearby, for the alleged 3rd gate. As it would help add more variety, and ease the pressure to replace rides so quick.

This logic works for me  They can make it a lot more efficient than the old pyro effects that were there. Heck plant a few more trees on property to justify it

It was announced last night that LeakyCon 2014, Harry Potter convention taking place in Orlando next year, will be from July 30 to August 3 at the Orange County Convention Center. They announced that the "tentative" date for the private night-time event at the WWoHP parks will be Wednesday, July 30. This is some additional confirmation to what HTF has said of Diagon Alley opening in June, as the LeakyCon would have confirmed with UOR before setting dates

welcome Macfr3ak!

To your worry about land .I will point to the rumor concerning Universal building a monorail.
If that is what they do (very blue sky now)they can run a monorail down to Wet and Wild property and curve it
back thru empty(now )land .Look @ ordinance rd and test,or north of fun spot.Plus if they do they can Buy some already built hotels(cheaper to upgrade than build)
and stop the monorail @ them.To get to the number of rooms Comcast CEO has said they want

Thanks guys! Good to know Felipe i can't wait till that time arrives!

Kevin the monorail over the highway will be a big hump to get over in permits not to mention cost but nevertheless that wold be a genius idea. Buying older hotels and completely refurbishing them sounds like a logical and cost effective move. Although i feel Comcast is willing to invest heavy money with their deep pockets to compete with the mouse on the other side of town. I hope that monorail comes to life and is open to the public that would bring even more tourism to i-drive.
