You probably won't see the announcement of Kidzones closure until a while. As it stands..I'd say give it February for the announcement of Kidzone closure and E3 next year hinting of whats coming.

Someone please offer me something about this possibility. I have absolutely no connections about this land and its attractions. Excellent example of how UC splits its factions and keeps a distance between them. I don't know poop about what is going on here and what might be the signature attraction.

I could see the ride being something similar to Indiana Jones Adventure. You only see Indy a few times on the ride anyway, and he only speaks once. I figure they'd have the ride be in a dungeon and do the same thing with Link, except he doesn't speak. Then again, if it's going to be more of a family ride, something like POTC with Jack Sparrow could work.

Not to be "that" guy, but you see Indy three times and he speaks each time you see him. Multiple lines in fact.

I'm kind of lost myself since I have no background with Nintendo games and little interest in the IP. But, it's obvious that Nintendo is really big with the under 40 crowd so I'm sure it will be successful, and Universal Creative's good track record probably ensures interesting attractions. But, like you, I have no clue what can or will be happening. And, since I'm not an insider, I have nothing to plug into. But, I'm sure I'll love it when it opens. Plus, it's replacing an area of the park that I usually see is almost empty when I visit in the spring and fall, and has absolutely zero interest for me.

To your first question: I don't see there being a Phase II.

has anyone brought up the idea that Link doesn't speak? I guess if there is a "Zelda" ride, you would be link? I just don't know how it would really work. I can't wait to see concept art for this new project. I think it could look really amazing.

Yes, the second phase will be called Super Nintendo Land, followed by Nintendo Land 64.

If this is truly coming over to Kidzone and a portion of the plot behind Simpsons, this makes complete sense. It also gives a better idea of what we could be dealing with for IPs from Nintendo.
