It's still on as far as UC is concerned. Do you recall what the cause of the halt was?

No clue. Just remember seeing a picture update (don't remember where) showing the site looking the same as it has for years with construction started though the same for a long time

EDIT: Here it is. Apparently the "final plan" was approved recently and "real construction" will start in 2017...not holding my breath that will happen

Universal Studios Moscow construction updates

I think it talks about the risks of new companies jumping in quite a bit. It's basically saying, "If you're not Universal or Disney, you're taking a huge gamble."

Or "hey the Hunger Games land is a stupid idea".

What alarms me are the 25 or so robots watching us. But they most likely can't get past the captcha to sign up.

Well my word! I am gobsmacked, flabbergasted, boggled, stupified, dumbfounded. Perhaps even wondering what took them so long...

Yeah, but.. they do that with everything. Doesn't mean anything's coming.

No matter what, i'm interested to what they do in terms of getting people excited for the film at the parks, even as a smaller scale thing to happen for now.

Looks like they are aiming at families, which could also mean more family friendly rides . Awesome. I like it. More variety.

And here I was worried that F&F meant a concentration on appealing mainly to the 20-30 male douchebag demographic.

Agreed on both accounts. They do this with EVERY movie that could be a ride, just happens that this one is actually going to happen.

I love the plot of this film. So where do you think an attraction would go? Shrek replacement maybe?

If what I heard is true (big if), it'd be something bigger.

This definitely has potential. The cuteness & lovable Minions type characters and an added emphasis on attracting the younger crowd. Wise move by Universal. I could even put up with a few more strollers in the streets if this becomes a decent attraction. I guess its time to start speculating where it goes. The Studio would be my guess since Kidzone is disappearing being replaced by Nintendo that trends a bit older. And Teebin says that IOA goes quiet for awhile after Kong & Hulk. So it's bigger than a breadbox. Bigger than Shrek. FF is being held back for HP3. Would they replace Terminator? Or how about the expansion plot between MIB and Simpsons?

Personally I disagree on this point. I think Nintendo hooks kids at the same age this kind of movie would.

Having just read the film's synopsis, it sounds like Cat in the Hat with pets.

I miscommunicated that. I meant that Nintendo trends older than what's presently in Kidzone.

Ah, okay. Yea, I'd agree with that. Realistically KidZone is "toddler zone". Even then, I think there will be concessions made to appease that crowd in Nintendo.

Agreed it is toddler zone, but some older kids do go over there. But really kidzone was very out of place for Uni and needs to move more towards family zone which is what I think will happen since the older generation now with kids will go there even with toddlers because we know Nintendo. I think they picked an awesome IP for this area because it really goes across so many age ranges. My daughter has no clue what Mario is, but that won't stop me from taking her to this area because I want to be there. If tey have several no height restriction rides, that will be perfect. I think that is all they need to do to appease the toddler crowd.

It would be really neat if this pet ride could have lots of AA's and no screens
