It has been officially announced that the sequel to the loved "Wreck It Ralph" will release on March 9th; 2018.

No news on plot has been officially announced, but it has been rumored that Mario will be getting a significant role in the film in some sort ever since the original's release.

Thoughts on the film as news of it develops? Are you excited to see the original film get a sequel? Comment below!

I'm very excited for the sequel. Walt Disney Animated Studios has been on a roll so I trust them in doing the first actual sequel to a Disney animated film.

We got a first glimpse to what the film will center..which, it seems that it will center on online gaming.

Some rumors with that was that we may see Tron incorporated into the film..which; would actually make sense if they go in the online gaming direction.

I wonder, given Universals deal with Nintendo, if they can use Nintendo characters in the movie? Besides Bowser, there was a real lack of characters in the first one.

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed Mario would be in a WIR2 if it was ever made. Like how Barbie appeared in Toy Story 2 after the success of the first. The Universal deal doesn't matter much in this case.

I'm probably in the minority on this one. LOVED the first 20 minutes or so of the original. After that? Not a fan at all.

Hopefully they can get more licensed characters to appear.

I'm always amazed the first movie never really made it into the parks. It seems like this was made for EPCOT.

I'm looking forward to this.

What if all those video game rights for the movie did not extend to theme park use? It would make any attraction much harder to make worthwhile.

I think there was enough content in the film to make a decent ride without having to license the other IPs in the film. With Nintendo going into Universal, there could be an incentive.

It did not make it to 500 million in worldwide box office. I am guessing that is why it did not have much attraction buzz.

Wasn't a big fan of the first but the concept for this one sounds interesting. Is LubHub on the art posted above a reference to porn? Go Disney.

Visually, I think there is a lot to play with. Tron did worse at the box office and look at Shanghai.

Tron was an iconic, groundbreaking IP before the current film. I agree there is a lot to play with. I just think that if Disney is going to improve EPCOT they will want to start with the biggest IPs they can. I am just making a distinction between what they are more likely to do vs. what we would like to see.

I still don't see GOTG going into EPCOT and I can't think of a more fitting IP outside of World Showcase.

I think WIR should be a Buzz-esque interactive ride. "The cybugs from Hero's Duty escaped so go around the arcade shooting them up!" I think that could fit in Tomorrowland or DHS... or even very loosely at Epcot.

Absolutely loved the first film. Can't wait for the sequel. Would be interesting to see if Mario is used, then how? Seems like Nintendo wanted to do their own movies as well right?

What I see, I do have some concern, but at the same time, intrigue.

I don't think it looks as bad as Emoji movie, but I won't deny that I think this is going to get Cocoed (when people compared it to Book of Life, before the film even came out).

I want to see more, but I'm more excited for this than I am of Incredibles 2 as far as this point.
