The Old HHN 30 Speculation Thread (2020)

I'm not going to lie, I'm slightly worried about the exponential increase in HHN speculation threads. It's unsustainable.

Why? I think the spec is much more dramatic this year because it's a big anniversary year. To me, that means there is so much more that could be involved. It's not just about "hey, what horror movies are being released this year that Uni could possibly use for HHN?" Or, "What classic horror will they tap this year?" It's so much more than that. We have the debate on whether icons will return, or whether Terra Queen will come back for her 15 year return, as well as will classic, well loved houses get a sequel or a reboot or a room in big tribute house? There is so much more to talk about, and I think the excitement level was ratcheted up the minute 29 ended. The possibilities are endless.

@Disneyson1 The "mom" house I'd love to see some day is Phantasm. I think I was 12 when I saw that movie for the first time. It would make such an AMAZING HHN house! Also, would love to meet up with you some time! Hopefully, when the time is near, there will be a thread for people to say what nights they will be there..

Regarding what “L” is, think about what “H” and “Z.” They’re (obviously) “house” and “zone,” meaning the letter relates what the clue is for. So, in that context, think about what rumors I could be hearing this early

My read is "location". Specifically, a new location for a rumored 11th house.

As for where? Sure, I'll take a swing. If the picture is an "American pie", you could go two directions. Either the movie, or the song.

I think the movie is kind of a trap, as you could go through all the actors and writers trying to find a horror connection.

Maybe the solution is much more simple. The song is about a disaster that killed famous musicians.
A location that could possibly be used for a new house is somewhere in/around Fast & Furious...which used to be the old "Disaster" attraction.

Or, that could all be completely wrong.

Just my two cents, but the RIP tour isn’t worth it. The food sucks, the bar stops take forever, and the upper class douchebags it attracts are insufferable. RoF with Express is more value for your money.

ROF + Express and Behind the Screams is the real big brain move imo

Part of me wants to wait until you solve the Pie clue. Ya'll have gotten agonizing close a couple of times.

Im going to take another stab at this clue. @Legacy said we came close a couple of times so “L” as he put with this clue probably means “Location” or “Logo”. But we came close a couple times, as more then once so “Logo” is out since it doesn't have more the one of the same guess. However, “Location” does as @JJ591 chart helps point out. That is a two park event. But he said CLOSE so that means it’s not that. But what does a two park event come close? Citywalk. Add HHN elements to Citywalk. Now this is my GUESS with what @Legacy has recently said.

Looking at the Old Man River clue, I looked into some of the bands songs and one of them was called “Dirty Creature”. I don’t what the song is even about, but I do feel if the lyrics contain something related to the clue. I don’t wanna post the full lyrics but here’s a glimpse of it

Dirty Creature and big BLACK lake? Creature and black? This makes me think of Creature of The Black Lagoon.

OR

It could be something related to Friday The 13th hence “Lake” (Crystal Lake) and “Dirty Creature” (Jason is a deformed zombie)

I decided to not renew my Disney year pass to get the RIP tour this year. Sorry Mickey you had your shot!!

I did our first RIP tour last year and enjoyed it. We went on a night in October where it was predicted to be a peak night and the crowds would be heavy. But it wasnt so I felt like all we needed was the regular express pass to get through all the houses and show. I didn't really care for the bar stops and wished we at least got one free drink with the tour. The group we were in was alright. I recommend booking an early tour vs a later in the evening. Our guide was awesome and was a former Jaws skipper. If we ever do it again I want to request him.
As for the Pie clue I've been looking at the nursery rhyme Little Jack Horner. The "L" is throwing me off. Line up? Location? Live show? Lunatic?
I'm thankful for this forum because no one in my real life wants to talk about HHN as much as I do. I'm def one of those year around Halloween types. I do appreciate all the work it takes to run this site.

I said Pie was both too easy and too hard. Someone is going to be in the right frame of mind and glance at the right thing, and it’ll all click.

This is something I have no info on but debuting something Potter for an anniversary year makes sense, especially if there are fewer IP houses.

In fact I think this guess prompted him to give us the single letters associated with each clue. I haven't come close to jiving with the clue since. Not even sure what "L" stands for.

I think @DannyPowers is right about the F&F Queue. Legacy mentioned last year that Us was up in the air to go in that location so maybe Candyman is rumored to go there this year?

I feel like that's probably the strongest guess we've had for this clue. I had totally forgotten about the Disaster ride. But it absolutely makes sense. Would be nice to get confirmation on some right answers to the clues so we could make room for new clues.
