Was The Repository really that bad? 26 was my first year and frankly we really didn't know what we were doing, so we didn't do it.

I think an upcharge house would be cool, but I struggle to think about what they could do for it that would be a bigger, badder experience than the other houses.

It was absolutely awful. Started off interesting, with a live actor and such, but once you got into the VR part, it was a confusing mess

Remember they’ve only used SS 19 once for HHN because it’s so in demand. I say we get more houses in other SS over SS19.

I know we dont know if plexiglass and masks will still be a thing this October but let's say they are, Do you think they will fill all the booholes in the houses or only limited like we saw during the day time? There is a scene in brides in particular where the assistant is supposed to be killing one of Dracula's brides but it was just the assistant with the sound effect and it seemed really weird

I really think it’s too early to be speculating on stuff like this, we’ve no idea what things will look like by that point

Stop talking about Masks and Plexi, it is to early to tell and we don't want to make anyone upset.
Come Summer? Sure go for it.

The Rona talk and building up the possibility of a HHN is like leading a horse to water and then strangling it so it can't drink. We still need to be weary especially since what we were given last year.

I know everyone wants to stay optimistic but we need to lay off it at least as much as possible. There is a different thread for that if you wish to discuss it more generally.

I'm not trying to be miserable and saying that we are doomed, but in a sense trying to be optimistic by not counting our chickens before they hatch.

Carry on.

Building up the possibility of an HHN? Isn't this.. an HHN thread? Lol

Sorry, I might have misunderstood your comment, but what should people be talking about if they're not building up the possibility of an HHN?

We just don't want this to become COVID speculation. Let's stick with event content for now.

So while measuring area space on another thread, something came to mind. The Barney show building is a good bit bigger than one of the tents.. maybe it could become a temporary house location if they're not planning to immediately replace it?

As long as they keep the statue lol

I didn't experience this at all, did it poison the well for an up-charge house in UOR?

This straddles the line between wishlist, but I think an immersive, highly detailed escape room like Thirteenth Gate could do well at the event (or in CityWalk, I guess). Maybe that's what they could do with the BMG stage

My bad should have explained in depth more...

We can speculate about HHN because that is what this thread is for. It's more in relation for avoiding COVID talk in this specific part of the forum for the most part until we get a better idea for what's going to be the environment the event will be surrounding.

I am just trying to say when we get into things like masks and Plexi (like previously mentioned) we start making assumptions when we shouldn't about the state of the world in nine months.

In theory we should have an event this year, but when we dive into precautions and restrictions we naturally start to make assumptions, and that can get people excited over nothing, in more ways then one. I'm just trying to lighten the blow in case something unfortunate would to occur.

Let's be optimistic, but not quite full force yet. We have a LONGGGGG way to go....

No idea if it poisoned the well. It definitely started off feeling like it wanted to be a highly detailed escape room experience, but with capacity restrictions, it just rushed you though it. My group "won", but for the life of us we have no idea how or why we succeeded on the puzzle at the end.

Totally understood. And that's how we end up with the chaos of the 2020 spec thread lol

It’s a big building, but there are too many level variations (with the stage) and rooms (with the pre-show) to really be viable as a house location without some drastic reworking of the building. This ignores the need for the queue as well, which isn’t really available unless it literally goes through Curious George (which they won’t really do).

Yeah, I guess it would take some pretty major reworking as far as removing the stage as well.

Imagine how terrifying winding through Curious George would be?

I still vote to have some kind of house over near F&F

Also, Alone was a pretty fun experience at HOS, but it faded pretty quick due to lack of interest

The upcharge haunts seem like they could garner interest, being alone or with a smaller group/more intimate experience

But they're easy to say "no" to, and they're technically an extra cost on top of something that people view they've already paid for, just another house

I think even without RIP it is definitely possible. With a bit of luck even without Express just with stay and scream. All you need is a plan and a night in September that is open long enough (or during a Wednesday/Thursday)

I got through all 10 houses easily on the largest crowd of the year last year (Fri, Nov 1st). Now, we don't know if the mechanics will change going forward, but going off the pre-COVID way the event was set up, you could easily get through all 11 houses (if they added an 11th) on any day of the event without Express, Stay and Scream, or anything else. You simply have to track house wait times for a week or two prior and make your attack plan based on that. 100% success if your goal is to do all houses in 1 night.

I was mostly curious as to if empty boo holes last year were because they didn’t feel the need to cast the entire house since it was a day time thing or if it was a safety thing. I mostly just want the assistant to have a static figure to stab or something if there can’t be a second actor

Sorry did not mean to make it a covid discussion

Yeah that back corner near FF is pretty barren - always feels like the longest walk from MIB to whatever SZ is in San Fran. It can actually be kind of a nice spot to sit and chill for a few minutes sometimes, but would prefer something to break up the monotony of that stretch of the park for sure.
