Twilight VR has a capacity of 240 per hour. We don't know how many seats that fills but it's much less than what Potter will fill.

I think they may only have 12 or so ride vehicles for Twilight, so Potter VR should be 12 times as much capacity, theoretically, 12 x 240 is 2,880 per hour, but that's assuming similar ride length and load times as Twilight.

Are we thinking this queue is going to have big pre shows, a la Gringotts?

Like a lot of simulator type attractions, I would guess there is at least some type of pre-show happening while guests wait to broad into the next room.

According to rumors, there would be 6 preshow rooms where groups of 24 would enter. In addition to learning story details, this is also where guests would be fitted for the headset part (minus the heavy VR elements). That would save time in the actual broomstick rooms, which would be smaller and only contain 6 seats each.

Things could of course change from the Epic concept to the Studios version.

So six pre-show rooms, six theaters with 6 broomsticks each?

Six preshow rooms total. 24 ride rooms total, each with 6 broomsticks in them. (144 broomsticks)

Each preshow room leads to 4 smaller rooms with 6 broomsticks in each them.

EDIT: Visual aid(?)

So if I'm understanding correctly:

-Get in line, go through queue
-You're loaded into one of six pre-show rooms
-Pre-show ends, VR helmet fitted, guests loaded into four broomstick theaters

Yes. See my last post again. Added visualization of process. (No clue actual shape of rooms, just for visualization purposes.)

Yeah I saw it and kept trying to edit my comment, but that is very hard on phone. All makes sense now, thank you!

The easiest way I can visualise this is as an expanded Smuggler’s Run.

If memory serves me correctly, I remember the Epic Universe version of this attraction was in a tall building…

The space needed for 6 broomsticks is like the size of a broom closet. The whole point of this attraction is it doesn't need to be big to be high capacity.

They won't move as in won't move at all, or they won't be rotating like the MF pods?

The individual seats move. The rooms don’t.

Really hoping if it begins and ends in a different location, it'd be represented in it via stuff like projection mapping and layered sets. Feels like a good way to transition people in, and to allow a cleaning process to fully go into play.

Universal at its best

I'm assuming the motion base will feel similar to FoP minus the drop aspects

Sony just revealed an 8K vr headset prototype (4K for each eye).

If Universal is going to use that I'm all in to experience it. I'm sure it will be mainstream in about 5 -10 years (VR glasses + computer power + software (minus motion, smell, wind, theming)) but until than it's going to be a unique experience.
