      Why did you like Cabana Bay so much? I'm scheduled for a trip there in August but I'm worried because I've heard bad things recently involving the construction. Was the construction visible and did it take away from the atmosphere of the resort?

        I would suggest selecting a room not in the towers if you'd like to not be able to see the Volcano Bay construction. I stayed in the Castaway building and it was an awesome room. You can pay extra to get a pool facing room and won't be anywhere near any construction. It's a delightful resort for the gift shop, inexpensive food offerings, retro rooms, bowling alley and arcade!
