Drinking Around the World?

Are you just doing the wine tour or are you mixing the whole way? If you're mixing, prepare to die.

Mixing, but I have a bit of a game plan. I'm skipping America, Morocco, and Canada. I also plan on taking breaks at most of my stops. I roughly budgeted everything out and figured out where I'm doing mixed drinks and where I'm doing my beers or wines. For the most part if I'm getting a mixed drink in one country the next I plan on getting a beer in.

See my thing is if your gonna mix just be cautious and it sounds like your going to be. My general rule of thumb is never mix, but again thats me and just knowing what my body can and can't handle. I will say if your going to mix at Mexico which MOST people do, stay away from that blue mixed drink in the tequila bar. I can't remember the name of it but its a MOAB to the gut I promise you.

I did a bit of research about mixing and matching at Epcot. They said it's better to start at Mexico and move clockwise. I'm also skipping the cheesy Margarita stand outside and going inside to Casa for a better Margarita. I've mixed and matched my fair share but usually I end my night with beer. I don't plan on going over board either though. I just plan on having a good time and in the process getting just drunk enough.

Remember to use a big boy straw with your wine cuz YOU'RE GUNNA BE A BIG BOY SOOOOOOOOON.

Are you going to buy me a big boy straw for my wine?

Nice ones to skip, although personally I'd go to Morocco and skip Norway.

Also, seeing as it pertains to this subject, I'm working on a little project that I hope to be done by the summer. I'm attempting to come up with 2 cocktails/shots/shooters to represent lands, attractions, etc in UOR and WDW. I'll keep you guys up to date once I start doing some taste tests....

Morocco has some pretty good mixed drinks. The one I remember getting is called the Sultan...I think.

Norway's selection for special drinks was pretty limited from what I remember, which is why I usually skip it.

Norway is going to be one of my beer/wine countries. After I have my delicious Margarita I'll need a lighter country

I plan on hitting all the countries I'm going to miss and some of the specialty drinks that I'm going to miss when I come back. Things like the Italian Margarita and such.

Just do a shot of some high end Anejo at La Cava and then move on. Personally, I would skip the beer pretty much everywhere except Germany. Beer is just SOOOO filling. And avoid sugary drinks. They tend to make people queasy. And don't forget to snack and drink a lot of water all day long.

Duly noted. I gravitate more towards beers over mixed drinks.

If you purchase me that I promise you I will drink my wine out of it...well maybe not promise lol.

Good plan starting in Mexico. When I went in February and did DATW we started in Canada and I felt a lot more intoxicated than I did when we went in January and started in Mexico. Maybe it was the poor drink selections I made in the last 4 countries. Here are some pics of our trip in Feb.

Mexico - Patron shot

As you can see, 3 of the last 5 countries we took shots in. Our reasoning was it's a lot faster to take a shot then it is to drink a full drink.

I plan on spending my whole after noon in the world showcase so I'm not too worried about time constraints and/or not wanting to spend too much time in any particular country.

For those wondering my trip around the world was successful. Next time I'll probably just stick with beer though. Some of my ideas were better in theory than execution, like going to the wine bar.

Last time I did a drink around the world, I made to the UK and couldn't leave the pub, not to mention I had to spit out my Casa Beer because literally it tasted like something else that rhymes with diss.

And if I remember they now serve Sam Adams in USA no? That is easily my fave domestic beer brand, you guys need to go out and buy Sam Adams: Porch Rocker....yes its literally called that, and its amazing.

I skipped Morocco and the U.S. I believe they do serve Sam Adam's but I can get that at Target and as appealing as anything with Casablanca in it sounds the negative reviews really turned me away from that beer.

Awesome to hear! Disappointed I didn't find this thread till after though, I could have helped a bunch. What was your favorite thing to get? I had a blast at the pub with the hat lady, some navy dudes, strongbow, and fish and chips.
