Question,

How did you grab those firework shots? What type of setting? What kind of lens? I really want to get some firework photography practice in before HHN and Christmas. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated. Im a amateur at best with photography. That first one is very impressive and would love to know how you got it.

Thanks

I always shoot manual.

It was shot at 10 seconds, ISO 400 at 20.f

The longer the shutter stays open the more trails you'll get, just remember to adjust your ISO and /f stop accordingly

Thanks I have setting the ISO at 200 but the f-stop is where I am goofing it up.

Here are a few night shots I have taken at WDW.

I have tried to get that China shot several times but not even close to that. It deserves to be on a park map or Disney brochure, it's an amazing picture and IMO the best park photo in your collection.

Taking a shot at one of Photoguybry's signature shots

Well I am doing some cleaning on my iMac and have roughly 30 gigs of photos on there to go through. Gonna try posting quite a few and backing them up before they get tossed along with all the crap shots. A handful of these may have been seen in other threads as well. Its safer to save and share then get tossed in my opinion. Enjoy!

More to come...

Thank you both and as far as Universal and tripods it seems things have changed. I used to have no problem but I haven't bothered bringing one in during my last few visits since the guys at bag check seem to give me a hard time every now and again. I mean they always let me through but constantly are asking me if I am a professional? Is someone paying you for photos here? Do I work for a travel agency? Also as of recent I had a friend who was turned away at bag check and was not allowed to bring one in at all.

According to policy tripods are apparently not allowed in the park but its rarely enforced. I for one have had team members come up to me and ask to see the pictures I take and were really enthused about it. Several even asking how I do it and watching  I sent a PM to one of our team member readers to hopefully get you and myself for the matter and official answer.

Oh and here are a couple more of the night shots,

^ Yeah ive been curious on their policy and had planned on bringing in my tripod on my next visit but was afraid I would be turned right away.

Straight out of an employee's mouth ( Its hit or miss ) Been turned away once six months ago but not since then.

Wild regarding tripods. I was told some time back that it is completely accepted at Disney. And so what if you sell them to anyone including the NYDN or UK's SUN. It would be fun to test security and tell them that you are a scout for the Travel Channel looking for new angles to promote the park. Universal is such a child when it comes to being so popular since potter. They're just not used to the hyper-interest and how to deal with it.
