Orlando Fire Rescue said they were called to Universal’s Islands of Adventure after a water ride broke down Friday afternoon.
A Universal Orlando official said there was a technical glitch at Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges that forced it to stop around 2:30 p.m. Firefighters were called to help guests off the ride.

No one was injured in the evacaution.

The Universal official said the ride should be back in operation in an hour.

in other news dyson hand drier 657 in universal studios broke for 5 minutes. And now the weather.

I really hope it's back up and running. This is just a sign of more things to come - Universal is going to start heading down the toilet if they don't start keeping up with hand drier maintenance.

My infamous post In the ET Breakdown thread...
Oh my gosh! This sounds really scary. I mean, I'm terrified of heights and I just wouldn't know what to do with myself if I was stuck 8 feet in the air on that ride. This sounds terrible! Universal is lucky nobody got injured or even killed. I'm glad that 911 was called because I really doubt those teenage ride operators know what they're doing! I don't think I will ever ride this ride again.
