If I go next Wednesday September 26th, will most employees be there or since it’s not a busy day does Universal not schedule a lot of people leaving some spots where there are no scare actors?
Expect a few empty spots, but there will likely still be most of the actors there

The park will be dead and you'll get to do every maze multiple times, if you so desire.

There will be some holes, but all essential roles will be filled. There might be just one less Michael or Phantom in a less-than-pivotal spot.

Idk about you, but I found this kinda funny.

Didn't someone do this last year too? haha except it was much longer, maybe almost 12 minutes.
The worst offenders, by far, are Universal Monsters and The First Purge. HOB2 apparently has a lot during The Girl section but I don't remember that at all (were the scenes just super dark? was he just walking super slow? that section of the maze isn't even that long) and the Poltergeist mainly seems like one section. The least were Halloween 4 (probably the absolute least), Stranger Things and TrT which are IRONICALLY what I've been hearing complaints about the most for it's black walls, meanwhile UM is being praised. INTERESTING how that works. *coughBIASOPINIONScough*

HHN wait time iPads got hacked and started to play porn.

UPDATE: I've heard word that the incident occurred at multiple wait time boards around the park. Absolutely disgusting.

UPDATE: Confirmation from multiple people that it was just the Terror Tram banner.
Man, some people just have no shame. What pleasure does that even give them? Who even goes in with that purpose or thinks of it out of the blue? This is also a major offense if they get caught, since it could be seen as distributing pornography to minors. Luckily this is a mostly adult crowd, but I guarantee at least one kid saw it. Side note, didn't realize the wait times were iPads haha

This truly is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. It's not funny, just pathetic.

Friday September 21 - Experience

First time Ive been to HHN in a few years. We had a great time but had a few issues. Overall a great event but need improvement.

Entering- we have platinum annual passes so we got a free general admission ticket. It is supposed to be easy. Enter the park and go to the kiosk in the front to get your wristbands. Well the Kiosk guy sent us to guest relations. And then gust relations sent us to the Universal box office where they do universal expelress. At rhi point taking to 3 people who didn’t help is I was pretty upset. So I asked the red shirt at UBO to speak to a manager and she said she was the maanger and coulnt help me. She sent me back to the Kiosk guy, but I went back to Guest relations because I know they have managers there that will help. Lucky we found a manager that got us our wristbands (by walking us over to the Kiosk guy) and then gave us 4 house expess passes for our trouble. Universal should have this down by now, this is not their first rodeo.
Houses -
It was nice to habe the expesss passes but we got there early and didn’t really need them between 5 and 8 pm. We did go to stranger things first and used expess but the wait was only 30 min at that point. We then did trick r treat with a 5 min wait. Jumped on the Mummy with a 10 min wait and walked over to Poltergeist which was a 5 min wait. We used a pass for the first purge because it was a 20 min wait and then blumhouse with a 5’min wait. We waited til 7 so we could do Holidays in Hell and then another walk on Mummy ride. We then did the terror tram with a 10 min advertised wait but it was really a walk on. The upper lot houses we did use express but both Monsters and Holloween were only 35 min waits. Saw Jaberwalkies and got some merch and was done by 9:30.

My list best to worst

Monsters
Trick r Treat
poltergeist
Holloween
Stranger Things
The First Purge
Blumhouse

Scare zones were good and the terror tram was fun.

Really hate the black hallways. They ar stupid and lazy. Some were so dark and disorienting I go turned around a few times.

Overall a good time was had. It didn’t seem too packed for a Friday but Ymmv.

Sorry for the Tolstoy novel.

We just gonna ignore Universal Monsters faults, or...? lol
Universal Monsters has scare actors in the black hallway that's after Phantom and bodies and audio so it doesn't really bug me and the black hallway at the end of the gaunlet isn't very long. It doesn't really have a lot. It does have a lot of fantastic design however.

Not a lot of mazes have a black wall problem this year besides The First Purge. Surprisingly I felt H4 and Blumhouse had the least amount of them

Without spoilers, can someone please provide me with a 'strategy guide' or list order of mazes to complete in order to maximize our experience?

It would be very appreciated.

Hit the Backlot first but avoid Stranger Things till the end of the night because light leaks and by the time you get out the Backlot mazes are packed

Poltergeist
The First Purge
Horrors of Blumhouse
Trick ‘r Treat
Terror Tram
Universal Monsters
Halloween 4
Stranger Things

Skip: Walking Dead

Make sure you hit TrT, H4, Poltergeist and UCM though. Stranger Things is a cool looking maze but isn’t scary at all and TFP and Blumhouse are skippable if you aren’t fans of the films

Do EXACTLY that route! Wish I did it opening weekend, but I was trying not to get caught in the Stranger Things hype -- now we know better. I wouldn't advise skipping Blumhouse though, even if unfamiliar with the movies -- I think it has the best tone and most dread out of all the mazes. By all means, skip First Purge though. Haven't seen a single person have that crack their top 4 or 5. I mean, always go through everything if you can, but if you had to cut something, it'd be that.

From what I can tell, every maze has someone in the black hallways.

Another thing I forgot to mention is our walk through of Stranger Things ended with us walking through the back stage area. I guess we were right behind a employee that was testing the maze and we just followed her which instead of heading left when you exit we followed her right. I thought it was weird when I saw the demigorgan masks hanging on the wall and people watching monitors. Someone quickly noticed and turned us around. I feel bad for the black robe exit guy because I think he got yelled at because of us, it was an honest mistake on our part just following the person in front of us and maybe the exit guy thought we were with her. Anyway an interesting experience to say the least.
