Venom

Who lied to us then? Because there have been multiple articles from the moment this was announced up until about this summer that stated it being a "hard R rating".

Just finished watching it.

First and foremost, Koreans love Marvel to the point usual Marvel releases are completely sold out. This one in IMAX had over 200 seats open in a post 4 showing which is essentially nonexistent here.

Eddie Brock's character was written so horrible that it made Topher Grace look like a straight up B.A. The writing/character development was so bad. I just have no idea what anyone was thinking.

Lastly so many things lead to not being resolved you are just like what?

Honestly, wait for streaming to watch unless you are a die hard Venom fan. Spend your money on any other movie than this.

Largest October opening ever, so the kicking it got didn't seem to hurt. Regardless of word of mouth, should hold ok next week before the new Halloween drops.

And this shows why Marvel should have a proper hand in all of Sony's Marvel movies, Marvel was involved in Homecoming it was great, No Marvel for Venom, meh. Sony made a ton of money out of the Spidey deal with Marvel/Disney you would have thought they would just look at how much money the MCU has made and thought hmm maybe we should let Marvel in on this,

Problem is, Sony won’t see it that way since Venom brought in over $200M WW at the box office this weekend, which is double what the movies budget was.

As long as these movies keep making money, they won’t care.

I mean, so-far the opposite can be said for Spidey-Verse, considering the word coming out of NYCC.

Sony should've focused on making Venom a fun and exciting movie, before they thought of making a universe for him to live in.

VERY unpopular opinion, but I feel like the MCU gets a pass on almost anything they put out. Even the worst of the mcu are critical successes. Venom was not a great movie but the bad reception its getting is harsh to say the least. Just my opinion

black panther was very average and at parts boring. it looked beautiful, and the cast was wonderful, and the effects were cool, but the story was pretty plain. so yeah, Marvel can do no wrong.
just look at Thor 2, that kind of movie would be enough to end a franchise lol
