Interesting move for them to go all out with the Horror theme in the store. If their new spy themed stunt show is opening within the next 2/3 months why would they go through all the effort of a retheme...? :eek:O:

$$$?

It’s not as if the space was really doing anything and costs virtually nothing to set up.

It’s also a good way to test the market for any future lands they may build.

Looking at the pictures, looks like the side closest to Horror Make-Up is covered in red-curtains/theater motif, while the side closest to Bourne has remained silver/modern.

It's just a matter of swapping out the merchandise on the modern side for something else and replacing a few classic monster/Hitchcock posters. Most of the theming looks to be already split.

But..

Convert a spy themed shop to a horror shop, wait 2 or 3 months (to when we hope this thing will open) then convert it back to a spy themed shop??

The current setup in there looks pretty well done and not so temporary

This may be just temporary, remember the Horror Makeup Show also exits into this store (or at least you can walk right into it from the exit hallway without going outside), so it at least fits that better.

Ah. Makes sense. This whole retheme should’ve been done upwards of a year ago

Once you remove the merchandise, it's just a few well placed props. If it's one thing Universal can do well, it's convert the mundane into horror quickly.

They rotate out old products and introduce new ones on a very regular basis. New movie stuff is added near the entrance to promote whatever is in theaters, but the back section and most of the walls remain classic films merch.

Except for a few good sellers, a lot of the merch is constantly rotating out for new stuff, even for the classic film things.

Yep. Hollywood shares many of these product lines (and pioneered some of the initial waves of rebranded Monsters merch) at their Production Central store across from Potter. The store also carries merch for Jaws, King Kong, Back to the Future, and ET, along with Hitchcock, Monsters, and "Old Hollywood"-type stuff.

Horror Makeup dumps into this shop as well and i'm pretty much they see the writing on the wall the Bourne isn't going to be a major merch mover. Terminator was a bigger IP than what's replacing it, which is odd.

Universal should have replaced Terminator with a Sing Show. Replace Shrek with SLOP. And BAM there you go! An illumination land in front your park. I’ll be waiting for my check in the mail Uni.

Well in the end of the day IP choice is subjective. But, having all 3 attractions with an Illumination IP gives the front of the park some cohesion. Something this park desperately needs.
Well, if they turn Shrek into SLoP and do something with Despicable Me, then it is kind of Illumination land

I personally enjoy the Hollywood area and would hate for it to be rethemed
