Toy Story Land - General Discussion

I have to say visiting a few weeks ago i was a little underwhelmed before arriving, but i was shocked at how much bigger and cute everything was. The detail was very nice in the land slinky dog was a lot of fun. I liked the land and that lil tater bucket was good as hell or i was hungry. Feels very alive, loved the toy soldiers.

The Totchos? Yeah, I love those. Of course I can get them cheaper at a local PDQ, but they’re still good.

Slinky Dog Dash is a roller coaster attraction located within Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios that opened on June 30, 2018. Slinky Dog Dash is one of two new rides in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the other being Alien Swirling Saucers.

They could have put any toy themed restaurant in there:

Maybe a hotel too:

McDonald's would have been fantastic. Yes, that sounds cheesy at the surface, but think of all the McDonald's Happy meal toys that could have been in there as easter eggs.

And I'd have to think McDonald's would fork over quite a bit to have made that happen.

Cheesy ... eggs ... fork - intentional puns?

A McDs would stir a flurry of shake ups in Disney’s own menu

That's reason number 1. But, I ask you to name a single arcade on WDW property with a claw machine left. As far as I can tell, they have all been removed, as have all skill games including ticket games. (They actually still have some ticket games left at Art of Animation, but without giving you tickets or prizes, sadly.)

Seems to me that Disney is soooo against gambling in Central Florida, that even their arcades don't offer prizes. Wellll, try to have a Pizza Planet without the Claw, I just don't see it happening.

Not entirely moral opposition to gambling as a sloppily written law by the Florida Legislature. Passed two or three years ago to fight those weird "internet cafes" that are really de facto casinos. But made things like redemption machines questionable, apparently Disney chose to get ahead of the issue by just dumping all their machines, which probably weren't making that much money and, to be honest, look more at home in a Wal-Mart than a world-class resort anyway.

I had that as a kid! Just now remembering it! So quintessentially 70s.
