An Orange and a Tangerine is still an orange. You can call it two coasters if you want to be facetious.
You're incorrect. A tangerine is not an orange. They're two different fruits. There's no facetiousness about it.

Orange (fruit) - Wikipedia

Tangerine - Wikipedia

Based on your posts, I doubt you rode Dueling Dragons. Apart from the lift hill, the two experiences were entirely different. They weren't mirrored tracks, or a racer (where the tracks run parallel the majority of the ride). And while I understand your argument about too many coasters, there will be no more coasters in IoA than there were before Dragons went down. It's evident that Universal is striving to make the coasters more approachable for families as well. Hagrid's, Mummy, and Gringotts are all considered "family" coasters, whereas neither of the Dueling Dragons were that at all.

Stopped reading when you claimed Sea Worlds numbers aren't falling. That park is in horrendous shape, and no cheap new coasters won't address that fall.
SeaWorld's numbers fell in the past, but we technically don't know what the 2018 numbers look like... And they're suggesting they're going up. Keep in mind that SeaWorld's numbers largely fell because of the poor press they've had year after year, not because of the rides/IPs.

Glad to be back on these boards, been awhile but finally planning my next trip to Universal! Hoping this one is open by Summer 2020. Love though that now the "Too many screens!!!" debate is turning into "Too many rollercoasters!!!" You'll never be able to make the consumer fully happy lol. If you don't like rollercoasters, there are several other attractions at Universal that can suit your needs. Just because this doesn't, does not mean its a poor creative decision. Its a billion dollar franchise, we lost 2 thrill coasters in the park, so they decided to build this. Mind you, the level of theming Universal can create is 10x the level that 6 flags can, so they aren't the same. Six Flags wants thrills, Universal wants a ride in an immersive environment. With Hagrid and this coming up IOA is just getting better and better!

Again, how is it creative licensing to say it was two different coasters?

Other than a slower speed, one less intense drop , and a single corkscrew - it had the exact same name, same themeing - it was for all intense and purpose just a lite version of the more intense coaster.

Next you will be saying 'Mission to Space' is two attractions - green and orange.

It is two separate ride videos and lengths, so yes it is two different rides.

Please stop trolling the forum and derailing this thread. Take a chill pill, you just signed up on Sunday.

The two Dueling Dragons coasters were less alike than the average B&M.

Describe this B&M sit down:

Lift hill
Drop
vertical loop
Dive Loop
Zero G Roll
Cobra Roll
Loop/Corkscrew?
Corkscrew

Anyway, I don't really care. Once they stopped dueling, they both sucked and Hagrid and whatever gets built in JP is a far superior offering in a modern theme park.

Visit Orlando has data showing there is a steep drop off of families visiting Orlando when the kids in the family reach 10 years old. Meaning that the preschool and elementary school demographics are well served but the tweens, teens, and young adult singles and couples demographics are underserved. All the players in the market have seen the data and are now battling it out for those families. Universal feels they can win this round of the theme park wars by offering a cooler more exciting product. It is not a coincidence that all the major players in the market are building more coasters, thrill rides, and themed bars.

Please stop bringing fact based arguments to the forum, consider this a warning.
