I honestly doubt its the drop track, if the news of how much they were testing is true I find it unlikely the drop track is suddenly having issues now.

Its something unexpected, the trains run the circuit but there's an issue.

Might be, might not be. Might be the switch between the two or the timing of it considering we have two drop tracks now. Might be the timing and delay of the launch.

Or... it might be one of the 1,000 other things this attraction has to work the kinks out of as they continue to increase the number of trains on the track. Issues might not present themself at 2 or 4 trains. But as they go from 4-5 to 10-12 trains, they're going to see some issues present themselves that they weren't able to see previously.

TLDR; Anyone who wasn't expecting something hasn't followed the building of an attraction before. In particular one this complex with such a large load capacity.

They could always open with less trains/capacity if it’s a train issue. We’ve seen this thing testing for weeks now.

Again- maybe, maybe not.

Why run softs now and then try to fix the issue later retroactively after opening while trying to increase capacity? For what purpose?

This is literally why they run the trains for weeks, increase load, etc. It's not some quota that they have to run 100 cycles before they're allowed to start softs. No; they run dummies, they run water bags, they run empty, they increase capacity, they increase the amount of trains, etc etc because each change to get it to full operating speed can create issues. And the plan is always to diagnose and correct those issues prior to open.

Again, I don't know what the issue is in particular; but to think there wasn't going to be an issue as they increased the stress-load closer to actual capacity is incredibly naive.
They are aiming for their June 13th opening, not some hopeful and mythical May 24th date for softs (which wouldn't have even happened anyway as they haven't even turned over operations). If softs happened, that's just a better benefit to both us to have earlier rides and them to expand testing and adjustments. But they put this wiggle room in specifically for these reasons which are known to happen regularly.

Eh nice thing about having dual drop tracks is that if they need to service one they can probably run the other one just fine. Probably brings capacity down to like 6 trains which is still incredible for a roller coaster. This is to be expected and ya'll should expect regular downtime daily for at least a year. That's what happens when you push the boundaries and make fun and interesting rides and not just more B&M's.
