2019 Hurricane Thread

I joked about it a few days ago, but today we are in fact getting massive rains from Dorian here in Bar Harbor, Maine. No winds at all thank goodness although the national park service has warned of high seas.

I have been keeping an eye on the Atlantic the past few days because we are due to fly to Orlando next Saturday, the 21st. A couple of potential threats on their way!

Humberto will be the next named storm which looks to be this system SE of the Bahamas. It is expected to be a Tropical Storm either tomorrow or Saturday and affect the same areas that Dorian just destroyed...No idea what will be around on the 25th...

Here we go again...5 pm update has it following a similar path to Dorian...

Tropical Depression 10 has formed 1165 miles E/SE of the Leeward Islands.



While the track may look ominous, ECMWF (European) and GFS (american) models are relatively close in agreement that T10 will turn sharply north and then northeast shortly after the end of the current forecast cone, similar to Humberto's path.

I had a heart attack when I saw an update to this thread, but relieved to know that it likely won’t hit Florida, thank God. I’m leaving for Orlando a week from today.
