There's a show at Fringe this year that, if you read these boards, you need to see--"The Animatronicans." Set in a house where Abe Lincoln figure from HoP, the dad from Carousel of Progress, Dreamfinder and the now unemployed polar bear from Maelstrom live together. One of the funniest things I've seen in years. Rapid fire theme park jokes, mostly at the expense of the Mouse but also some Sea World and Universal references.

Best of all, THE Jack the Clown (from the ads and the best of the shows) plays against that type as a very flamboyant polar bear. You'll have a hard time believing it's the same actor, but he nails it.

Saturday night already sold out buy plays 4 or 5 more times in the next 9 days at the Orlando Shakespeare Center. $11 + a $10 button.

(If you do go, "Toilety D Roll" pretty funny. About a puppet roll of toilet paper. Odd, but the guy who does it is Henson-trained, works on the new MST3K, and once opened for Weird Al. He's funny and makes it work.)

Seems that a lot of locals are really high on this. I'll see if I can try to make it out.

Animatronicans is a must-see for any theme park/Disney fan. If you're an HHN/Halloween fan, check out Phantasmagoria as well (it's a best of from the show they do every October). Also, absolutely no theme park connection, but 21 Chump Street is brilliant if you'll be at Fringe anyway.

Pulling an old thread out from the dead...

Tonight was opening night of a limited run of Double features. It was a Double Feature of The Animatronicans and The Animatronicans: Under New Management. Simply put, both were hilarious and all theme park geeks should get the chance to see these wonderful shows. Some of the jokes are extremely metta or deep, even for some theme park fans. For those who are in on all the jokes though (which seemed to be a majority of the crowd tonight), it’s a wonderful experience. The Cast is made up of many of the HHN icons, as well.
