The Cirque du Soleil water park concept was/is fascinating and would’ve been an interesting second park for Universal. I’m anxious to see the final product’s reception.
It was actually the last musical my wife and I saw last year before things started shutting down, and it was definitely outside NYC. All in all, we enjoyed it and I think a theme park version would work if they decided to go that route.
Sapphire Falls is accepting online reservations for May 18 and beyond. No announcement has been made to reopen that I’ve seen, so it could just be a placeholder that gets moved later.
Edit: Aventura was still not showing up on that date - only Sapphire Falls.
Sing on Tour in BMG and SLoP to Shrek gives them a quick and somewhat cheap update to USF in addition to a new Illumination Plaza. Probably won’t happen but this opens the door to an easy upgrade (assuming it’s even true).
Universal isn’t forcing people to go if they’re uncomfortable with the change. In the meantime, can we leave this thread for actual reviews, photos, and videos? There’s a general discussion thread for this kind of talk.
Not sure how cheap it’d be or if the attractions would fit, but porting DW Theater to Shrek, SLoP to Despicable Me, and building out Beijing’s Minion Land in KidZone would at least keep R&D costs down.
From someone who’s been on the Shanghai Tron, it won’t take much for this to be better. What universal needs to be preparing for is Guardians of the Galaxy, which is purported to be incredible.
