Any word on whether or not this is opening again soon? Will be there next week (Thurs-Sun) for my daughters first trip and she will be devastated if this isn't open.
I'm so glad they aren't requiring masks. Granted my trip is still 5 weeks away and anything could happen but I really didn't want to cancel coming down.
Will be watching this closely as we have a trip booked for September which will be cancelled if masks are required. It's too much money and too hot down there to wear a mask. :(
Do they still put them out only at certain times? I'll be heading down in a couple months and my hopes of riding this aren't high at this point. They sure made a mess of this ride.
When I went to the website it required your location services to be turned on and "in the park". I'm not sure what they classify as in park, whether it's in an on site hotel or actually inside the gates of the parks. It almost makes it seem like people were booking VL tickets outside the parks...
I noticed today on the app that it says "This attraction is currently testing a new Virtual Line experience. Follow directions on in-park signage or visit vltest.universalorlando.com to join". Has anyone tried this for Hagrid? Is it better than the previous method on the app?
As a fellow Pennsylvanian, I couldn't agree more. We went in November 2019 as well and while we waited close to 3 hours in line at least we knew what to expect. We are planning a trip later this year and I sure hope the VL is gone, it seems like a nightmare. I'll take a posted long wait time...
Rode this on yesterday after a 2 hour wait.
I will say that overall it is a very good ride.
The queue definitely is lacking. That part was pretty disappointing when you compare to FJ or Gringotts.
The launches were a lot of fun, probably the best part of the ride for me. I was in the...
2+ hour delay yesterday morning after opening on time and going down almost immediately.
Got in line at 3:50 with posted wait of 2.5 hours. Took about 1 hr 40 min to get to last room and then we had a 20 min delay.
Did not open on time today, consistent 3 hour posted today due to low number...
Completely agree with you. But my guess is that whatever can make them the most money is what will be the outcome. So if they think they can make this work and it brings in more cash, sucks to be us.
I don't really have any disagreement there, I haven't heard/read anyone say they don't like the ride itself. But just because a ride is good doesn't mean it's operating or doing fine. I would have expected 4 months after opening for most or all of these issues to be resolved, but that's my...
From what I've gathered from the threads:
1) Ride doesn't always open on time
2) Ride has semi-frequent delays
3) Ride often closes early
4) Animatronics are frequently not working
5) Audio is sometimes not working
That to me....is not fine.
Interesting. I've actually found it to be the opposite. First time I went to Universal was 9 years ago, had no issues with motion sickness. Now I've found that I do have issues recently. So the older I've gotten the more I've had issues.
