Well, they're related - they're just related in a very dumb way that wouldn't really be able to be guessed lol. Like last year, I believe it was:
Tomato - Darkest Deal (crowd throwing tomatoes)
Orange - Chucky (orange hair)
Grape - Exorcist: Believer (wine)
Pear - TLOU (pair of protagonists)
I...
Jumping off of this, I think we will get crowds regardless of the lineup. The IPs draw in new people, but many of those people become fans of the event itself and continue to return.
I've been attending since 2016, and an original has been my #1 each year except for 2018! (Poltergeist)
I had to unfortunately skip 2021, but from the POVs I watched, the first thing I thought after watching the Beetlejuice house was "That looked really disappointing."
I'd personally prefer them to put an original in F&F so they can specifically create something to fit well in the venue.
But I don't remember the Weeknd house having any massive props/sets outside of the first stage room, so it could work there.
Unrelated to the current discussion, but - Google Maps updated their satellite views, and it looks like the images were taken during HHN last year. Because there are very visible scare zone props on the streets lol
Kinda cool to look at!
If Universal really wants to mess with the fans, the first announcement should be the "surprise IP" that no one has discussed yet. Send the entire community into a frenzy
Anyone think we could actually see the show run on off-nights during HHN season? It's upsetting to have never seen the nighttime show because we've only been during the fall lol
