We were told several months ago that the park’s operating and maintenance budgets would increase this year, and it looks like it’s gone into effect. Less closed rides, multiple projects going on including two more bathrooms about to be constructed/refurbished. I hope they are able to keep up...

Btw, I don't think the new ride by any means is going to be a family coaster, not even close.

The merger isn't finalized, and even then, we won't see any real changes to the company's direction until 2025 at the earliest. And yes, every park will be upping their game in time for the Olympics.

Understandable. If not a giga, they really have no business building another coaster with all the other problems they'll be trying to fix over the next few years. They really are rushing to make the park presentable before both the merger, and the high profile events coming to the West Coast...

No way this is a giga...SFMM and Great Adventure were both in line to get B&M giga coasters, and it looks like both were pushed back or outright cancelled once Salem's plan for the chain was in place. Still, if it's what I think it is, it sounds amazing, and nicely themed (for a SF coaster).

Right before the merger probably, so that the Cedar Fair guys can't cancel it in the name of "streamlining" lmao

Hopefully the polar opposite of Wonder Woman. I haven’t seen any plans or artwork, but have heard it will have a storyline, similar to Diabolical or remembering Terminator:Salvation at opening.

Agreed. WCR and Wonder Woman were greenlit to draw in locals, that’s why they ultimately never moved the needle. They weren’t meant to. They were meant to draw from locals, and help push/maintain membership sales. And then the pandemic happened, and the company could no longer rely that old...

WCR was definitely filler, and yes, mediocre at best. And whoever decided on the comfort collars was hopefully fired . I won’t ride it again until they’re removed (probably never). I’m a fan of single rails so I like Wonder Woman, although leave it to SFMM to find a way to make the overall...

It’s … not great. First drop and final turn around (where most of the work was done) are good. The rest is still bumpy as hell. Ride it now while you can. I hear it’s is going down yet again for a major retrack by the end of summer, or perhaps even before. This ride needs the Ghostrider...

I’ve never seen this many projects going on in the park at once. It’s so fun going to work right now.

It didn’t. But all the rides closed for an hour lol

If you saw them up close, you wouldn’t save them either lol

Walls are going up around the Golden Bear Theater starting just past Full Throttle. Unfortunately, we are going to be losing more trees for this project (sigh)

Also of note, the maintenance and operating budgets are nearly doubling for 2024 (early CF influence)? And most of the upper management has either quit or been fired, and been replaced by transplants from different parks around the chain. 2024 (and beyond) may be a whole different ballgame.

Rumor: The park is in discussions with RMC to find a way to duel Twisted Colossus 89 percent of the time along with other refurbishments next year. There’s also talks of an in-house solution to save money. But it’s being talked about.

Interesting how they are completely ignoring How to train your Dragon.

Some changes to the park entrance incoming. Couldn’t be happier :)
