Good catch on assigning Legendary Truth to the black & white skull. Definitely thinking the most logical guess there is that it’s the Tribute Store T-Shirt skull combined with the b&w aesthetic of Boris’s room within that store.
It's coincidental we talk about all of this after someone brought up Eddie, who never got to be an Icon way back in 2001 solely because content concerns arose throughout the whole event for very big irl reasons.
He underwent a pretty significant redesign for 2021's Scare Zone, but he was still...
The girl glaring at you from across the courtyard, who scares you later in the walkthrough, is probably the peak moment of the whole house. I also love how the one guy in the human candelabra room started doing this weird "moment of reverence" thing before his scare, just standing in the...
Case Files 2021 was an anthological house. The Tribute Store room leaves off on a cliffhanger for that one story that can easily be expanded into a full house with a singular narrative.
More fish people, more Lovecraft references, more octopus deity abominations with red eyes. Nothing like 2021
Singapore included some Dawn FM in their Weeknd house this year along with After Hours scenes. Old Man Weeknd as a costume was wild looking, lmao.
I could definitely see some of that used for a sequel house on our side of the globe, though.
So I'm watching some Singapore videos from 2022 and man, if they can pull off Killustrator, that vibe is EXACTLY what False Idols: Part 2 could be. So good!:love:
I've only got 5 years under my belt so far, but I did a full ranking today and here's what wound up being the top 25 for me:
1. Slaughter Sinema (2018)
2. Case Files: Legendary Truth (2021)
3. Dead Man's Pier: Winter's Wake (2022)
4. The Darkest Deal (2023)
5. House of 1000 Corpses (2019)
6...
I would personally prefer to see the Silent Hill franchise return as a Scare Zone in Central Park anyways. It would be so eerie considering the density of fog that location usually gets.
We would also need to see that franchise make some bank with the GP once the remakes, new film, & new...
^I think odds are highest for Eddie or Curator of those characters you've listed. Realistically, I don't see the others garnering the support Oddfellow did this year, even within the most diehard HHN fan circles. I also think Eddie or Curator provide the most extreme tonal shift from Oddfellow...
Somebody got in with an entire Jeepers Creepers Creeper costume one night this year, mask & all. Which was not fun to see for so many reasons.
Some facepaint? Fun shirts? ST character clothing even? I can vibe with all those, as long as you’re clearly a guest and not trying to like, join in...
From my standpoint, which is probably an outlier, I love my vacation tradition.
I fly down for about 7-10 days during Halloween week, stay at Cabana, do whatever FF pass suits that best to ensure I go every night I can with no Express or any kind of tour. Barely ever do Scream Early anymore...
Just wanna shamelessly throw out there that I made a dream-treatment for Vamp ‘65 as a house apparently 3 years ago (felt so much more recent!) :D
I’m content with the zone lol. And getting Oddfellow involved was cool. Though mine had a really wacky ending that tied into other event lore iirc...
The line stopped moving for a couple of minutes on Halloween while we were in Pinestraw’s first performance room. We had a little party dancing & clapping for him. :lmao:
I always thought the first character in this house was the “Welcome to Oddfellow’s!” clown. Last night on one of my runs, the wooden door in the little entrance hallway on the ramp opened just a smidge and a clown was eerily glaring out from behind it. That was really cool.
So many great...
That’s not just any minotaur, that’s Bullerina. Put some respect on their name. :p
I noticed that Goatboy was there on Wednesday and I haven’t seen him since. That’s the only character who’s been consistently missing on my runs.
