    Pixar Pier (2018)

Here's a POV of the Incredicoaster: I didn't see any animatronics... just static figures. I'm sure it will still be a fun coaster, but I don't think the retheme was worth the downtime.

    SeaWorld San Diego

Hard to believe that the SeaWorld execs didn't know what they were getting. They either weren't paying attention, in which they should get fired, or they were paying attention and thought this would work, in which case they should also get fired.

    SeaWorld San Diego

I'm not sure that's allowed. But I can summarize the article: the ride rarely operates, and hasn't operated this year at all. It's been removed from the SeaWorld website. SeaWorld says the ride is "currently undergoing maintenance", but no one has seen any evidence of work being done on the ride.

Seems like this ride was such a dud that it is now closed indefinitely: Why did SeaWorld mysteriously close submarine ride less than a year after it opened? - The San Diego Union-Tribune

    SeaWorld San Diego

I don't know what exactly would qualify as an ADA violation. But "ability to walk unassisted" only applies to "small children". What it says exactly is: "Guests must be at least 42” or accompanied by a supervising companion (14 years or older). Small children must demonstrate the ability to...

    SeaWorld San Diego

Per the Seaworld website, the 42" requirement is only for guests riding unsupervised. Otherwise, the only requirement is being able to walk unassisted.

    SeaWorld San Diego

If it's supposed to be a family attraction, I think it fails. A family attraction should have something for everyone. At least Seuss Trolley Train has more to look at.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged - General Discussion

I don't really find the musion effect here convincing. The 2D-ness of the projections makes them look really fake, to me.

    SeaWorld San Diego

I sure wouldn't stand in line for that! I guess it's for little kids, but I think all the the littlest would be bored. And it doesn't make any sense for a ride pretending to be underwater to be mostly outside!

Guardian's of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout

It is quite fluid, but if you compare to the video version of the spiel, the animatronic isn't quite there, yet. If this were imitating a human, it would be deep in the uncanny valley. Still, it's pretty good compared to most other theme park animatronics.

    2nd USH Gate?

Disney has room for a third gate at the Toy Story parking lot and the adjacent cast member parking lot. Obviously, the parking would have to be replaced and expanded, but Disney has nearby plots of land where they can build parking structures. That said, I don't see this happening any time soon.

How much does it really cost to spend a day in Universal Studios?

If you want to save money on food, you are allowed to bring in your own snacks, though I'm not sure where they draw the line between a snack and a meal. But I highly recommend trying some of the Three Broomsticks food, if you haven't before.

    New iFly Location on I-Drive

I once reserved a flight at iFly San Diego. Then I read the waiver and I was shocked. They won't take responsibility for anything, including "improper maintenance of any equipment". So no iFly for me, unless they make their waiver more reasonable.

    The Walking Dead Attraction (Closed)

Well, I think last time I visited, it was more like a 5 minute wait, so 20 is something. But right now I see: FJ: 90 Transformers: 65 JP: 70 RofM: 65 So the park is pretty crowded, and WD is still 20. So it looks to me like it's just scaled up with the park attendance. I'm...

    The Walking Dead Attraction (Closed)

I think waiting until HHN is a good bet. It would be easier to justify doing this with the HHN budget than the general park budget, given the lack of popularity with daytime guests. I think with some modifications, extra scares, and marketing, it would be very popular with HHN guests. And it...

    Disneyland Resort

I find this quote amusing: Umm... this is a ride system that only can go up and down!

    Disneyland Resort

They recently moved the western security checkpoint to the M&F tram stop and expanded the number of lanes. I've heard that it's improved the delay on that side. The eastern side is unchanged.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hollywood

Is that still there now that it's 2D? I don't really remember that part very well, but sounds like something that wouldn't work well in 2D.

    The Walking Dead Attraction (Closed)

Despite the downward trend in the show's viewership, it's still ratings juggernaut in the world of cable TV. I think AMC will try to milk it for all it's worth. This ship can still be righted, so I wouldn't be surprised if the show lasts beyond the end of the decade. I definitely expect some...

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hollywood

That's good news. I found the glasses really distracting for the physical sets. And to my eye, the projections didn't seem to have much 3D depth, anyway.
