JAWS and Kongfrontation were honestly the best possible realizations of those films that I think we could hope to see. With today's technology and advancements, it would be amazing to see how they'd turn out if built again. The USJ version of JAWS is a good example - build less than 6 years...
I wish this made sense, but it's really difficult to tell what's going on with this at the moment. Kind of makes me wonder if this early section is getting turned into some sort of aquarium/viewing tank and the Mosasaur possible goes where the Ultrasaur stood - or if this structure is even going...
That was unexpected.. In a way, there's a lot more they can do with the ride when it's taking place indoors - but I hope we can at least keep some portion of it outdoors (perhaps waterfall/Stegosaur Springs onwards).
I'm intrigued. The entrance through the gates always felt a little lacking as opposed to JPRA, and of course the foliage in the early scenes was always a bit.. sparse, especially behind the smaller Ultrasaur and above the waterfall rockwork where SSFL is visible. I know space is much more of...
One thing I'd be interested to see is whether they manage to integrate the AA underwater "pits"(?) in a way that means they're far less visible, or not visible at all. I think the main draw for me is to see how Universal creates animatronics in 2018 - I know we have the Kong head in Reign of...
Given how it was rumored to be on the chopping block (maybe it still is), I wonder if there's any possibility of ROTM getting a Jurassic World overhaul? That would push the JW theming a little further into the lower lot, but I get the impression cohesive isn't of total importance down there.
To this day I still cannot look at the demolition photos.. it's probably a bit pathetic, I know, but the ride was just a huge part of every vacation for me as a kid and was always my favorite attraction. Obsessed would probably be a fitting description  I know the buildings you're talking...
The park looks so... open back in those early photos - even watching back old videos from that time of JAWS, the ride looked completely different - it's funny how much the growth of trees etc. can completely change the way an area looks. Only now am I realizing there was no extended queue for...
While I completely understand it, if that's the purpose of this - it's kind of a shame for those experiencing the attraction for potentially the first/last time if hardly any of the effects are working (or even in place). I saw a recent ride-through and at least 6 AAs were out completely.
I feel there's a lot of potential for some strong screen scenes inside the show building, but I hope there's no reduction in overall AAs compared to what's there now - the mosasaur/great white scene in particular would be so impressive if they can pull it off using practical effects. I would...
I know the SNW construction is pretty much right behind there, but I'm not quite sure of the reason for the removal of trees from JAWS. It's quite distracting when you see recent videos, but I guess there's a solid explanation behind it.
I hope so, would be great to see it get some love. I'm guessing they'll do some work on the exterior too, it could definitely use freshening up from what I've seen.
Random question but what are the current sections of the parking garage? I know when I was last there in 2006 there was Cat in the Hat, ET, Spider-Man, Jaws, Jurassic Park and pretty sure Kong was still there.
I don't want to get in too deep with my sentiments but JAWS was like a best buddy ever since we first visited in 98. I have become more and more fascinated with how it worked and the behind the scenes aspects over the years. I think many overlook the true genius that went into the ride, not just...
Hope that everyone who makes it out has a great time! The behind-the-scenes tour of the island would be awesome, hopefully there will be something of that kind. Hopefully it gets the send-off it so desperately deserves. Be sure to grab as many photos/videos of Amity, the ride, queue area/queue...
