To put it easily: couldn't disagree more. I understand where you're coming from, but I still stand by what I said. Relevancy will always be irrelevant to theme parks. Execution is what drives long term. If it's a well executed ride about irrelevant characters, then the kids will see the...
Sorry everyone, but after thinking about it for a while, I retract my support for this new attraction. I've just simply come to a realization that I was in denial when speaking positively about Despicable Me. I've now lost all of my interest in this ride, so much that I don't even want to ride...
Well folks, with you-know-what closing in three days, I figured now is the time to introduce to this thread with a tribute to start it off.
Here are many photos of the attraction (before they added that disgraceful new Nickelodeon logo to everything). I will add more over time...
See, that never actually bothered me. I honestly thought this ride was a "fix" for the previous attraction, rather than a replacement altogether, as I felt it improved on several of the things that I disliked about the previous attraction, and I just think the Nicktoons were much better suited...
Thanks for the comments, everyone. (Even though I obviously agree to disagree)
The only thing I will comment about is that I personally never really saw the ride as being mainly about Jimmy Neutron. I always saw the attraction as being a celebration of Nicktoons altogether, with Neutron being...
I would still appreciate it if someone could explain why they hate this ride so much...
(I'm not looking to argue, I just would like to see the reasons)
But anyway, I'll be there for the last day. It'll be sad to this ride go...
I don't agree with this. The upgraded dreamer theme idea that I've heard people come up with is vastly different from what the original DCA had and isn't education focused. I'll try to see if I can explain it and better detail later.
There was a lot of problems Golden Dreams had that caused...
I agree that some improvements are definitely being done to the park, as I like the idea of a Buena Vista Street and a Paradise Pier with Victorian theming. However, I do feel that the idea of California dreamers has untapped potential that Disney hasn't looked into. Also, I actually enjoyed...
There could have been a ton of ways to make the entrance aesthetically pleasing while still making sure it tells the proper story.
Overall, this entire overhaul plan is weak, creatively speaking. Putting characters everywhere is a terrible idea for improving this park.
The park...
Sure it does. The entrance does not succeed in telling the story that Buena Vista Street is supposed to as it plays no role in Walt's arrival in California. Plus, the Pan Pacific Auditorium is not a good way to represent Disney or California for an entrance.
The new entrance doesn't even make any sense. Buena Vista Street is set in the 20's. The Pan Pacific Auditorium (which the entrance is based on) wasn't built until the 30's.
Only less then a month left until JNNB closes...
Around the time it closes, I'll post in full detail why I thought this ride was good and underrated.
But, I will give a sample and say one reason why I loved JNNB was because it successfully captured the spirit of Nickelodeon. That's...
If both parks were "immersive experiences", where would the distinction between the two be?
There are still many things a production show can show off that a DVD can't. Like having guest participants. To compare, nowadays, it only takes a mere Google search to learn about something. But that...
The problem with the ride is that it has a schizophrenic tone. What is the main point of this ride? Are we simply being given a tour of Suess Landing? Or is this about The Sneetches? The queue sets up the Sneetches story and the first and last part of the ride involves the Sneetches, but we are...
I was thinking this over recently, and I strongly believe that a post-production attraction needs to be put here. USF needs to strongly emphasize the "Studios" in its name. By having several more production attractions, a better connection is established with the studio area, while still keeping...
Honestly, there are so many things wrong with DTD right now that I don't even know where to start. It's become a tacky outdoor mall rather than a true Disney experience. A majority of the place is going to die if improvements are not made right now.
