Having a some fun with lists, predictions and random thoughts....
What are you heading to first after entering the park?
1. Donkey Kong
2. Battle of the Ministry
3. Starbucks
What ride will have the most downtime?
1. Battle of the Ministry
2. Monsters Unchained
3. Mario Kart

The visual effect that they are going for is pretty dang good! DK is going to have excruciating wait times IMO.....everyone is going to want to ride this. This might be the ride that I head to first at park opening.
I don't think that the comparison is totally subjective. I really like both IPs....and don't get me wrong....Slinky Dog is an incredibly themed and enjoyable family coaster. That being said....there is no show for those that don't ride.....as you said there is nothing for the little ones other...
I would argue that Universal has achieved that through the design of the land....and yes there is something for everyone.
Compare that to Toy Story Land which is also an IP that is targeted for everyone of all ages but failed miserably as a fully fleshed land to be enjoyed by those of all ages.

Stylistically they had to do 1920s Paris.....I think that it is super cool that they are doing a hybrid story line involving both FB and HP....almost like guests are living a new chapter of these combined movies....love it!
Universal's video gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye....they must be doing something right. I think that they are just moving full steam ahead as a company and giving people what they want....and I love it!
As I've said before.....a game changer for U.S. parks. Our Tokyo DisneySea. Please spare me with reasons why it is not like TDS....I'm simply stating that it will be the most elaborate, elegant and advanced park in this country......that cannot be argued.
The amount of detail going into this...
