    Disney's Animal Kingdom (General Discussion)

Yeah. For one, it jerks you around a lot. Secondly, even though they redid some scenes and lit it up a bit better during a major refurb a few years ago, it's still too dark and hard to see anything well. That said, in a park with very few actual rides, it's an attraction we always do, since...

Inside Universal - Unofficial Meetup! (April 27th, 2024)

Tough to do these things since so many posters aren't locals.......A number of years ago UK Trigg invited Alene & me to meet him & Samantha at Portofino when we were both going to be in Orlando. When we showed up at the Thirsty Fish bar, he also had Dave @Disneyhead, Dave's daughter, Bob...

    Disney's Hollywood Studios (General Discussion)

I like both DHS trackless rides. If there were 15 rides in the park, a third trackless ride , similar in moves, would be OK. But there's few actual 'rides' in DHS.

    Disney's Hollywood Studios (General Discussion)

That would be three trackless, somewhat similar feel, rides in a park that has very few rides. Sounds familiar to the skreenz complaints about another company's Studio park a few miles down I4. :D ;):lmao:

    The Future of PortAventura

I sure did. You're always spot on.......These people are searching for Fools Gold, mostly because a few continental self called Universal insiders ( I can't recall knowing there were any European continental Universal insiders before :D :lmao:) created rumors by equating co- incidences with fact.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

My feelings also, Alicia. I felt the same when I tested it the other week. Your observations are spot on. I'll probably do it once a vacation, if only for the queue experience. I used to do it 5 or 6 times every vacation. It now suffers from no outside section experience, and the loss of 3D...

Possible and probable are two very different words.

    The Future of PortAventura

Hope springs eternal, it seems. ;) It's hard to be let down when hopes were artificially/intentionally elevated a few months ago. On the bright side, Universal Britain will just be a short flight away.

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

If the little ones are being bad, threaten them with a ride on the mean scary Troller Coaster. ;) :D

    "Old School" Universal Orlando

Looking at Earthquake/Disaster, people, who weren't riding it much at its end run, probably never ever thought it would prove many times better than the 'horrible' F&F that replaced it. To say nothing of losing Beetleguice also.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

Unfortunately for us hard core fans, most of what you say is what the financial reality is. Most everything negative that has happened points to budget issues. A new theme park (Epic) is a great thing in and of itself. But I'd guess it's also an overall negative, at this point in time, for...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

I use their 'actual' waits on every vacation. They're pretty much right on and far distanced from the 'posted' waits at both WDW and Universal. Trust me, I trust their numbers. 'Posted' waits are rarely accurate. There's a number of reasons for that, but the most obvious is that park's would...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

I've always preferred to use Touring Plans numbers where they have people reporting 'actual' line times each day, plus the 'posted' wait times. Usually there's significant disparities. Example: At WDW the actual wait times generally are about 60 to 65% of the posted wait tines. Universal's are...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

Yes, but by quite a bit overall if you go back to the closing of the outside section. That's what I've been looking at. Like Disney does, you can rig survey results by the way you phrase a question, but significantly reduced guest traffic at an attraction gives a truer picture. It started with...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

Glasses are mid twenties in cost individually. These are not like the cheap Shrek or Philharmagic glasses. I suspect they go through quite a few replacements monthly. Plus the employee costs for that cleaning and collecting area. So the cost gets up there a bit. That said, that's still a poor...

and a pole in the middle of the stage. ;)

Skull Island: Reign of Kong - General Discussion

Yes, plus it is too expensive an attraction to close so early in its 'reign'. It's not like it wasn't getting big crowds when operating properly. Generally, Kong had among the longest lines at either park, short of Hagrid/Gringotts/Velocicoaster. It really helped IOA's capacity, and need for...

    Dark Universe (Epic Universe)

I strongly agree. When I rate an attraction, I consider the queue/pre shows and the facade nearly as important as the ride itself.
  20. Mad Dog

    Dark Universe (Epic Universe)

Seems just like a filler attraction to get the overall park ride number and ride capacity up a little bit. It's fine for what it is. Just really a C ticket attraction.
