Mattel Theme Park coming to Arizona

Today, Theme Park Insider ran an updated story on this park, so I thought it was worth bumping this long dormant thread. The park is slated to open in 2024 and to no one’s surprise will also include a Barbie dream house attraction. But the small 9 acre size makes me wonder why they went their...

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

Accepting that we don’t have definitive information about what the finished project will look like even given the insider insights, I am struggling with the value that the Dreamworks land represents to Universal Studios Orlando. It is at least a refresh of some very old and tired activities and...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

Here is some information about the Jaws ride and the responsibilities of the skippers that you may not know. In the original 1990 version of the ride, while there was a ride track, the skippers were in full control of the throttle of the boat. This resulted in variability from ride to ride and...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

I think the use of human skippers on the creature boat ride is extremely unlikely. That would significantly increase both the cost and risk of operating the attraction. Labor costs are rising with the increase in pay to team members and attraction operators aren’t directly generating revenue...

KidZone Replacement Rumors & Speculation (Pt 2)

When I read this, I instantly had a vision of Vin Diesel on a screen at the ride entrance jumping up and down with a stupid grin on his face yelling “Pick me! Pick me!” Trying to get anybody to get into that justifiably empty queue line… On a more serious note, I think this Kung Fu Panda...

Revenge of the Mummy Refurbishment (Late 2022)

Since there’s been no discussion of Mummy reopening this July 4th weekend, that rumor appears to have been wrong. Is anyone hearing a new estimate for completion of the work? Planning to be there July 20-21. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

The Future of Fast and Furious: Supercharged

We can only hope so. While other attractions are older and could use refurb attention, Supercharged is a literal embarrassment that never should have been built and Universal knows it.

Fast and Furious Coaster Coming to USH

Who would have thought that the Fast and Furious franchise might be represented by an attraction where you race around in fast cars? I’ll believe it when I see it. But if this rumor pans out, all I can say is FINALLY! And consolation points to Universal for getting this right on the 2nd try...

    Reedy Creek Improvement District

I wonder whether Disney will reply to this break of trust with the state of Florida by announcing the end of discounted pricing for Florida residents effective June 2023. After all, these agreements went both ways. With elections coming up, that may create an election backlash from Florida...

(Rumor) New Potter Attraction to Replace Fear Factor Live?

No one has mentioned it yet to my knowledge, but I’ve had a nagging feeling for a while now that there is a quiet plan in place to use the back part of the Fear Factor plot to create a Knight Bus terminal to be used as a park hopper attraction to Epic Universe. Given the success of Hogwarts...

    Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Rumored e-mail to guests canceling their Starcruiser reservations: Disney has heard your concerns and has made significant upgrades to the Galactic Starcruiser experience. 1) the meet and greet with first mate Goofy has been replaced by an R2D2 who beeps at you! 2) Kylo Ren no longer battles...

    AP/Parking Question

Any time you renew your annual pass, they want to charge you for parking the first time. But if you go to a hotel a couple of blocks away and walk to the park, you can complete the pass renewal at the gate and then you can avoid that 1st time parking fee. I’ve done it successfully multiple times.

    Future Universal Projects and Parks

Looking across the web, this makes a lot of sense. The 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek series is September 8, 2016. The planned release date of the next Star Trek film is July 2016. Back in February, it was announced that Paramount was going to build a theme park in Murcia, Spain...

Wizarding World - Diagon Alley Discussion - Part 2

Hi, folks! Our old friend BobWadd apparently climbed into a helicopter recently and took some aerial photos of Diagon Alley! They have been posted at pixelsattheparks.com and there are some great shots.

Wizarding World - Diagon Alley Discussion - Part 2

On the 10th hour of Christmas, our insider gave to me: A circular staircase 3D glasses station Two themed lifts A lift vestibule Bill Weasley's office A looong Goblins haall! Security office 4 massive vaults A marble Gringotts hall And a circular entry vestibule! Thanks, HTF, and Happy Holidays!

New Water Park coming to Universal Orlando?

Based on HTF's late night tweet on the subject, this seems like a good time to bring this thread up to date. The indication is that Wondersea Island is the official name of Universal's new water park, targeted at a 2016 opening. With an indication of an undersea Despicable Me themed...

Great pictures, Sabin. That's pretty clearly the source of the Grimmauld Place building.

    Dec 12th Media Event Predictions

My prediction: Universal will announce the new shops at Citywalk, the Cabana Bay hotel, and Diagon Alley. Then, in a surprise "one more thing..." (As Steve Jobs was famous for) announcement, Universal will reveal that there is a 2nd hotel opening in 2014 in the Leaky Caldron at Diagon Alley...
