    Hurricane Irma

I'm scheduled to arrive at Disney on the 15th then moving to Universal on the 20th. I'm watching the weather more for the aftermath than the storm itself. This is my third vacation that has been effected by a hurricane. I was in Florida in 1999 with the Magic Kingdom closed for the first...

HHN 27: Ticket, RIP Tours, and Pass Information

I'm planning my first trip to HHN. Do prices normally go up before the event? I'm going Sept. 21-23 and thinking of getting ROF+Express. Is Express needed those days? I'm going to be getting a Seasonal Pass on Sept. 20. Based on past experience, am I better off just buying regular tickets...

HHN 27: Ticket, RIP Tours, and Pass Information

I'm glad ticket prices are up. I can start my final planning for my trip. I'm going Sept. 20-23 (leaving the 24th). I'm trying to decide between RoF /Express and use 1 comp day I have to the park primarily for IOA. Or, get ROF w/o express and get tickets for everyday. I'll be at Disney...

    Nintendo Coming to Universal Parks

At this point I'm not sure if "much" newer really applies. Mario Brothers was released in 1983 (not that many people remember it). Super Mario Brothers was Mario's first big hit and it was released for the NES in 1986 (in the U.S.). Pokemon Red and Blue was released on the Game Boy in 1996...

    Most Hated Attractions

OK I'll put in mine. MK - Stitch EPCOT - Energy DHS - It's Tough what's left is pretty good It's gone now but Sounds Dangerous was one of the worst things ever in the park. DAK - Tricertop Spin but in general in Dinorama area even knowing the back story. USF - Barney Fear Factor gets a close...

Wreck-it Ralph Ride to replace Stitch's Great Escape?

What, Tomorrowland is the perfect location for this attraction. In 1971 when WDW opened we didn't even have Pong (which was first released by Atari in 1972). So, a "virtual reality" ride based on Video Games would be a perfect fit for a Tomorrowland that still features Tomorrland Speedway and...

Universal Orlando Resort Expansion (Part 1)

Instead of the Heathrow example of small PRTs an automated version of nearly 4o year old Morgantown WV PRT may be better in this situation. It has slightly larger cars. During peak times they can run in continuous mode or schedule mode. So, around park opening it could run straight from the...

Disney Annual Pass Struture and Pricing Change

From a historical perspective Park Hopping was first introduced in 1982 with the addition of EPCOT. Prior to 2005 and the introduction of Magic Your Way tickets your options if you were staying offstite were 1 day ticket, 4 day and 5 day Park Hopper tickets, and 5-7 day Park Hopper Plus...

    Osborne Lights to End Run

On another message board I follow, one of the Osborne's posted that the family was give an inventory sheet of the Osborne Family portions of the event still being used. They were implying that the family would be getting those items back after this season. From that, it sounds like it's over...

Fast & Furious: Supercharged - General Discussion

From a nostalgia point of view I'm sad to see Disaster go. With the recent closures at both USF and DHS there aren't many original attractions left. USF has E.T., and Monster Makeup. DHS has The Great Movie Ride. Everything else has been closed or extensively changed. (BTTF becoming Simpsons...

Fast & Furious: Supercharged - General Discussion

Unfortunately, on my last trip on Disaster this January, several of the effects didn't work. Most notably, the semi didn't come out of the ceiling. I've not seen F&F live but I've watched youtube videos of it. An interesting idea would be to do the Cars in the outside queue, put the...

    Test Seats at Universal Orlando

I'm not sure I'd sure the word more forgiving. The test seats don't click and at least for me, it tough to get the leverage on my own to tighten down on the restraints enough. On the real seats, because they click into place it can be easier than the test seats with someones help. On the test...

    Test Seats at Universal Orlando

You're right, it may be 2 clicks. I know I needed ride op assistance to get the last click and depending on how I sat in the seat it would go either fairly easy to not going at all. I got pulled a couple of times before I finally figured out the trick.

    Test Seats at Universal Orlando

I'm about 6'4" and I was about 325 when I went to Universal. As far as tips for being able to ride, for Forbidden Journey, take your time at the test seat. I found I needed sit up straight to get the first 2 clicks then slide down in the seat just enough to get the shoulder room for the 3rd...

    IOA Lagoon Show

I originally heard it in the old 1999 USA Network making of IOA special. (Information is about 4:00 in)

    Universal's Crowding

That definitely leads to an interesting pair of question. What park do you want to be at today? vs What park do you want to ring in the New Year at? Orlando Parks is probably right that the MK is the better park than Epcot to be at today. I've never been to the MK NYE but I have been to...

    Favorite Restaurant at SeaWorld?

In a lot of ways, that's probably the difference between being a local and being a tourist. When I go to my local park burgers and pizza is fine. I'm leaving in 2 days though for a 10 day Central Florida Vacation I'm spending 8 nights on property (3 Disney, 5 Universal) and will only have a...

    Favorite Restaurant at SeaWorld?

For me, Disney has the variety of counter service food. Busch has the quality. Voyager Smokehouse has better BBQ than any of the counter service BBQ places at Disney. Universal high spot seems to be in the affordable table service options.

    Universal's Crowding

Thanks for the information. I subscribe to Touring Plans as well. I'm cautiously optimistic that they've over estimated the crowds for the 6th onward. For January 2nd 2 park Express Pass prices are $119.99 so I totally believe a 10 expected crowd. Fortunately I only have a couple of things I...
