My mistake. It’s been several months since I’ve visited the boards here. Based on the news I’ve seen elsewhere, I thought construction had halted due to the pandemic. Thanks for the clarification.
I hate to be that guy but here goes: what do we think the odds are that this movie brings back the HHN show? Maybe in a different format than we saw before but it would definitely be fun to see the younger (old movies/past HHN shows) and older (upcoming movie) versions of the characters riffing...
While I may not share your zeal on the topic, I strongly agree with your assessment of film reviews. I do read them because I find it interesting to see what others think of a film, but using reviews as the lone deciding factor of whether or not you’ll watch a movie (or anything else) is a great...
I really wish that Universal could make pulsing work and completely eliminate the conga line, but the only way I could ever see that working is if they expanded to a true 2-park event with several more houses to spread the crowds out. Based on what they’ve done over the last decade or so...
We have no real information on this, so if it happens, it could be literally anything within reason given the kid-friendly nature of the island. At this point, all discussion of this expansion is purely speculative.
You have to think of this from a budgeting perspective. This expansion in its entirety is going to cost an incredibly large amount of money. At this point, it only make sense to spend the money to build parking that meets the needs of the expansion that has currently been greenlit, which we seem...
Parking garages are only really needed when you don’t have the room for a surface lot, right? If they have the space, why not use a typical, much less expensive parking lot? Disney uses them for all of their parks. They may not be the most visually attractive option, but I’m sure Universal will...
I’ve yet to go, but it does seem to be a situation of overpromising and underdelivering. If they had simply marketed this as a great water park instead of some kind of big game-changer, they would’ve been in good shape.
While the capacity is needed, I definitely agree with you, especially with Universal’s branding of “water THEME park”. Hopefully we get an attraction that delivers both.
I live about 30 minutes inland from the Jekyll Island area, and I agree that it is a wonderful place. The neighboring St. Simons Island is nice too, but Jekyll is much less developed and, as you mentioned, far less busy. It’s really nice to hear that people are traveling there to visit. Thanks...
Is this typical? We were thinking about planning a last minute trip and the only night we’d be able to go would be the last night and it would probably be without Express. Would we be setting ourselves up for failure here?
I saw someone post on the FB AP group where they’d received a mailer about AP holders getting 50% off in the VR game room. To me, this might make it worth trying. Has anyone else heard this?
Sorry if this has already been asked, but is Bar 17 open exclusively to hotel guests, or can non-guests partake? Seems like it’ll be packed every night, but if it’s open to non-hotel guests, then it’ll be nuts.
This thread is a sobering reminder that regardless of how universally acclaimed a game (or anything else) is, it won’t be the same for everyone. I personally think that BotW and Odyssey are two of the best games I’ve played in the last five years or so, but I really enjoy the conflicting opinions.
I just wanted to say that I thought IU’s coverage of the media event was top-notch. I was following a few other blogs on Twitter throughout the evening and I thought IU’s photos were the best quality and did a great job of giving an overview of the hotel. Thanks for the work you do!
