While the interior is actually very nice for a "value resort," the architecture of the resort itself looks very cheap. These buildings will most likely age poorly. Instead of this resort having a gentrifying effect on tacky international drive, I think it will just reinforce the idea that...
The size of a park is a bad way to measure of its quality. Both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios have mostly unused lakes in the middle that add to their acreage, but don't make them more "fun".
Waterparks should be small because walking barefoot on concrete can become tiring and even...
Yep. None of the big cloverleaf raft slides have compound elements, meaning that each slide has 1 cool thing about it. Other parks are combining tornado bowls with wave walls and stuff. Universal isn't. They went very basic.
The blue wave wall slide is actually massive. I drove past it last...
What I don't understand is why you have to walk to the actual ride in order to reserve a spot. It seems like it could be a pain to walk all the way to the slide only to go all the way back and wait in the pool.
There are too many unanswered questions about this technology.
How exactly will TapuTapu notify you that you can get in line? Will it just vibrate, or will there be something on the screen? How long will the system hold your place in line after you get the notification? Will there also be a...
I think the same thing sometimes! The new slides at Volcano Bay look just as intense and fun as the ones at WetnWild, which is good, but they are horribly generic. In order to have all the slides fit into the overarching theme, they had to deprive them of any personality.
My favorite theme...
Why do all of the waterslides at Volcano Bay have weird, unpronounceable names? Ko'okiri? Kala & Tai Nui? Kopiko Wai? Nobody is going to remember these names. The Tapu Tapu reservation system will only work well if everyone knows the names of the slides. Sure, there will probably be pictures in...
Sure, the landscaping and park design may not have been as good as TL or BB, but most of the actual rides at WNW had an actual theme. Look at Disco H2O, for example. The music and disco lights really added to the ride. Or Brainwash, which had an actual storyline if you listen to the speakers as...
Universal won't remove Dr. Doom anytime soon. The space it takes up is too small to replace it with something substantially better.
I really like the ride. You have to remember that shot towers are by their nature short experiences.
You missed out, man! I loved Wet n Wild's small size. I don't want to walk long distances barefoot at a waterpark. Everything is within a 1.5 minute walk at WNW, which is awesome. Bigger isn't always better.
I don't want to de-rail this thread, but why do you see the hulk refurb as a disappointment? The layout was probably impossible to change, if that's what you wanted. We got a much better queue and launch tunnel, plus a smoother ride with upgraded cars. Don't forget the very well done locker...
Yah, I doubt U2 is coming, though I would love to see them. Uni would have to pay a lotttt of money to get one of the biggest rock acts ever to do a relatively small theme park gig.
