This. I get some lands are meant to entertain kids and not to be super immersive areas like other lands, but I don't think that means we should expect and/or excuse a world class destination to put Six Flags level effort and budget into it. That said, I think we do have to applaud the design...
2 story, very dense land. Completely different than how Dreamworks is bing built, no?
I always thought we'd been told that the emergency access road and backstage route to the backside of fast food blvd couldn't be changed. I'd imagine that drastically limits what you can do with the land. But...
I get what you and @Wesker69 are saying about ample space, but if Pokemon were to replace Springfield, you'd have to imagine they're wanting to eventually have that land take up WAY more space than just what is currently Springfield. That's a Potter-level IP. It will move the needle in terms of...
Is there even any room for a potential dark ride expansion here? With the current rumor for Springfield becoming Pokemon soon, I feel that IP is far more deserving of whatever they need in this area of the park rather than reserving land for a potential Dreamworks dark ride
That too! I forgot about that one. The interior will probably look so stunning. I love a good outdoor themed dining experience like Disney's Blue Bayou
A bit underwhelmed reading the details to be honest, but hoping it still looks nice and more importantly, the kiddos enjoy it.
-Mama Luna's cats are "on vivid interactive screens"
-Confirmation of no going inside or getting a peek into Shrek's house
-No Poh QS location serving noodle dishes...
He probably meant these. They look like they're going to be used for meet and greets. You can see some Gabby's Dollhouse art (cat head shaped windows) in the nearest one.
That's true. The spider and webs look nice and I'm hoping there's more sculpted stuff all around the play areas thats going to be installed later.
Are you thinking Mama Luna's interior will have physical cats? Super simple AAs with swinging tails, heads popping out of boxes, etc? Or more...
The singing frogs and the other rumored interactive stuff (Mama Luna's cats, whatever they end up doing back in KFP's area) look really nice and well thought out. It's just the signage and some structures that look really cheap. Hopefully when completed everything feels cohesive and so cool that...
Yeah...Especially with how beautifully all the sculpted marquees and figures in Minion land turned out. I was hoping this land wouldn't look like a Six Flags-tier land with glorified cardboard cutouts posted all over.
I don't want to be negative but this has that same flat, white-bordered look that the land's main marquee has that many of us were hoping wasn't permanent
This land is coming together so nicely. All these little details and lots of interactivity is going to be nice for the kiddos. Mama Luna's, the Shrek play area with outhouse slide, water shooters, interactive frogs, etc and that's just the stuff we've seen pics of so far!
I keep thinking how out of place he'll feel if there's an actor walking around the land looking like this. The others wouldn't feel too out of place but this Drac just does feel -off- to me
If or when the Creature boat ride does come (and I really hope it does!), I hope they stay more faithful to the original design. I just saw a concept artist's design for the Creature for USJ HHN recently and said to myself, "Thankfully they're keeping the classic designs for Dark Universe". Now...
I'd say today's PR dump was incredibly successful. More so than any other theme park related news in recent memory. Tons of non-theme park people are now aware of EU and very excited without even knowing anything else about the lands themselves. The Disney crowd high on pixie dust (aside from a...
I meant more in terms of the ASM ride layout/the majority of it being screens. That's not at all what the headlining Pokemon attraction needs. People have been experiencing Pokemon on screens in front of them, and via AR with Go for years. Seeing those worlds and creatures in detailed sets as...
This. The AR/Spiderman Scoop ride USJ is getting sounds like the complete opposite of what I'd ideally like to see as the headlining attraction. I want a long, slow moving dark ride through different biomes with physical sets and AAs all over the place. If they NEED to gamify it, just take a cue...
My thoughts exactly. I'm hoping this rumored land is 'moved up' in front of Zelda or other projects, and not 'fast-tracked', because if they fast-track it I feel like they'd be more inclined to re-use FFB which limits the overall land completely with the placement of that building. They need a...
