You're implying that every single ride, from open to close, was sitting at a 5 hour wait, which is a smidge hyperbolic, then condemning the ride ops and universal for it. I don't think that's a fair assessment.
Yeah, I don't think it's "not working", I think largely it's a new system guests are unfamiliar with and unwilling to adapt, and the fact that a lot of people can't grasp the concept of a queue-less line STILL MEANS THERE IS A WAIT BUT YOU'RE NOT DOING IT STANDING ON CONCRETE IN THE SUN.

The park has a lot of really exciting elements to it, and some aspects that still need improvement. I think a lot of it could have been solved with a less ambitious opening date, even by a week or so. Fortunately, it seems like the things that need improvement are largely superficial.

I guess that's true, and I'm just thinking too much like a passholder who lives close enough to go to the parks regularly, but not close enough where I could run home to grab a bathing suit and head back.

How did they handle tickets in those cases? Did they just let people in for free?
Also, those are both parks adjacent to existing parks. This is a park you have to prepare/pack for differently, not just saying "Oh hey, did you like that theme park? Come check out this theme park!" while waving...
Have other places done soft openings for entirely new parks? It's not like a new land like Pandora or a new ride like Fallon, so people don't already go there. How would they have done soft openings? Just team members? Just UOAP who have already upgraded?
