DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

Rides like Peoplemover are also grandfathered in as "safe," whereas you could not build the same ride today without accounting for additional safety systems. Universal does not operate anything that old - Peoplemover at MK dates back to 1975, about 50 years before Yoshi opens at EU in 2025...

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

There's also the "Barney's Backyard" space, that wasn't used previously for Dreamworks. Maybe this is Retail? Besides a merch cart or two, the land does look to be lacking in themed retail spaces.

    Avatar in Disneyland

Remove Autopia/Subs, re-route the Monorail, and give me an all-indoor day-for-night Pandora land in DL proper. Connect it so you could walk from Small World to Tomorrowland around the back of Matterhorn. Done.

    SeaWorld Orlando's Future Plans

I consider this Journey to Atlantis, no? I guess that's a coaster/flume hybrid. Ice Breaker was intended to have a lower height limit and be more of a family coaster, before the height limit got pushed up.

CityWalk Orlando Updates & Changes General Thread

This. When I worked River Adventure, these guys were so annoying to stand across the path from. Although they were told they could only go ten feet from the stand, a lot of them pushed the boundaries of that limit as much as they could.

UO to discontinue Paper Park Maps

Where are the nearest bathrooms? What kind of ride is this? How long is the wait time (even if the sign is there) and is the queue indoors? How do the lockers work*? * Especially confusing at IOA, where you have rides with required lockers for bags, water rides with optional lockers, rides with...

UO to discontinue Paper Park Maps

They used to have cheat sheets, folded TM guides like Disney Tellacasts. Not sure if they still have them.

UO to discontinue Paper Park Maps

I'm kinda surprised park maps lasted into the 2020's to be honest. They're nice to have but people can't read maps, just as much as they can't read Apps or in-park navigational signs. So they end up just asking TMs where everything is anyway.

Hong Kong Disneyland $1.4 Billion Overhaul

Oaken's is a short coaster but it's in a park that has lacks a kiddie/less-intense family coaster, and actually the RC half pipe coaster is technically shorter by track length (although that's a shuttle coaster with multiple launches). It's fine for what it is.

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

Embracer Group is/was having problems keeping profitable, and there were layoffs and possible sales of internal assets last month (also floating the idea of selling off Gearbox). But I could see a bidding war for LOTR rights, that's a huge one.

    The Future of PortAventura

Interesting. Lines up with the "rushing to sell" mindset.

    Universal's Epic Universe Construction Thread

Guest walkways are usually themed (painted or "stamped" concrete), so probably coming later to save wear and tear on that. Throwing this out there, I fully expect EU to get a "minor" attraction or two, like IOA did back when Storm Force and Flying Unicorn were added. Like little "sweeteners"...

Universal Kids Resort - Frisco, Texas

If they're smart, I'm sure future films would have tie-ins for meet and greets, merchandise, and food/beverage offerings. Those can be whipped up faster than a new attraction, or land. Look at how Universal promoted films like the Puss in Boots, Boxtrolls, or Super Mario Bros Movie without a...

    DisneyForward Expansion Project

My take? Build a NOS-styled resort hotel on the area North of DTD (behind the former ESPN/Rainforest Cafe). Do a exit-only bridge into DL for after-hours events (or exit valve for Fantsmic). New guest corridor from the parking garages goes through the middle of this resort, made to look like the...

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

So the motion platforms are fairly mechanically simple, from what I understand, and have been overhauled a few times in the years between The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, Nicktoons Blast, and Minion Mayhem. It's not the same situation as other rides, where the ride systems are...

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

We hit it a bunch when I worked there, or close to it. I think it's fine but I wish there was a flat ride back there to add capacity to the "land" rather than expand/replace the coaster. Remember, for a time it was the ONLY coaster at UOR prior to IOA opening, and the only one at USF before...

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

When I worked there 40 dispatches/hour was the goal, and that's ~640 PPH. Not bad at all for a kiddie coaster. Compare that to about 140 PPH for the old Fievel waterslide or P-Flyers (can't remember the exact figures).

DreamWorks Land coming to USF (2024)

Not happening. Merlin did that to save money, versus buying a Zierer Force 5 like a lot of other Legoland parks. That made it a major ride for Legoland Floria, maybe the best besides a recycled Wild Mouse that came from the UK... not the same kind of situation at all.

    Legoland Florida

Anyone knows what's replacing Flight School? Couldn't find much on this, since it closed on National Rollercoaster Day, seems to have gone by without any announcement or tease, besides this. The only tweet I could find from the closing day:
