Probably apropos of nothing, and to be clear I have no inside information whatsoever. But I am an accountant, and if there is one thing that I’ve learned over the past few years of reading and learning about theme parks is that budgeting and marketing are two of the most important factors in the...
The Dia de Los Muertos plaza sells some delicious chamoy pineapple spears that went really well with my Modelo.
Birria tacos and horchata churros were fine, I guess. ♂️
Yeah the house reads as a half / half Phantom / Quasi house that get systematically broken down by budget cuts and forced inclusion of other characters (Hyde seems pretty forced and under thought). Invisible Man has one room which isn’t a big drag for any other portion.
Hoping for scareactors...
Hate to put this out into the world, BUT…
They will almost definitely use this year’s Universal Monsters maze to justify retiring the Universal Classic Monsters for the time being.
GP barely connect with Frankenstein and Dracula as it is, and the Phantom, Quasi, and Hyde probably don’t even...
Stranger Things clearly was allocated a big chunk of change. I’m a little disappointed in how it was executed and as usual for this series’s mazes, it isn’t very scary.
Not bad not great for me personally.
Can confirm the black wall maze this year IS…
Monsters.
☹️ Also am about 95% sure Hyde is just the Wolfman mask without a body.
A few impressive scenes and fun elements. Happy to see Invisible Man. Ultimately a miss.
I was not super impressed with Evil Dead but maybe because I was so impressed with the scenic of Universal Horror Hotel last year. Uses a lot of the same elements.
The scares are much more intense though, and the few new scenes/scares are effective.
Just not as impressive a second year...
First house of the night: Monstruos. Posted wait time of 30. Actual wait time of 45. Don’t think they have gotten the balance of GA to VIP yet but that is to be expected.
Excellent scenic. Fun little ending I won’t spoil (I know this is a spoiler thread). Got missed by a lot of scares...
Coming from the Hollywood thread to say—your sets are absolutely breathtaking. What you are all saying could very well be true about lack of cohesion and storytelling. But I can almost certainly say that the scale and detail of your sets are just insane to look at coming from the Hollywood...
Still very excited for this one after seeing the BTS and hearing reviews for Orlando’s.
Even if it turns out to be a Phantom love fest with some other cameos, that is fine with me.
Excited to see it on Tuesday!
Might be a good time to do Purge if the mood strikes us. Blumhouse might be a last minute jump in line sort of deal to close the night out.
I’m just glad the shows are back to eat some people.
Have my own strategies in place in line with my priorities, but curious to see how others are approaching maze house order with Early Entry and Terror Tram and everything.
Keep in mind I’m going to TM preview so that changes things quite a bit.
*Rush to the lower lot*
1. ST 4
2. TLOU
*Back...
Yes aware of this now.
Strike me down if I turn out to be wrong, but I’m thinking there will be some Evil Dead Rise merch, even if it is a small amount.
As mentioned by others, it could not be a “360 deal” but I’m assuming if WB bothered to license the property out again they would rather...
It’s not a Universal release, so just like Stranger Things I’m sure they are waiting until the actual event to drop the merch.
I would imagine releasing merch is part of WB’s contract stipulations when lending Universal their IP.
Good things come to those who wait!
This is the first year since they did Universal Monsters back in 2018 where I feel like it could conceivably be the last we see of the Monsters for a while. You better believe I will be stocking up on that Unmasked merch.
Can’t wait to see it all next week!!
This aged like a fine wine. :lmao:
Invisible Man and Gillman are my two favorite Monsters, so count me very excited!
Next year, Universal Monsters: Creature Feature? Wolfman, Frankenstein, Gillman?
In my dreams…
Now that I think about it…if Exorcist is a redo of 2016 (and 2021) would that be the first time in recent history that a house was recycled twice?
I know we have had plenty of recycles recently (La Llorona, AvP, Killer Klowns, Pandora’s Box, Halloween IV) but it does seem strange to recycle...
Hi there everyone. Became a USH employee this year and I’m trying to see what I should expect from the Preview. Is everything usually pretty finished? What are the crowds like? Do they let you in before 7?
Thanks to everyone for another great HHN message board for 2022…
Cheers!
