Not a good moment for horror movies. Used to be the average BH movie could hit 15m+. Pretty scary for the industry ngl.

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 (USH) - Speculation & Rumors

Dunno if I agree that it's the most limited bubble, Universal today is probably the healthiest horror producer in business and they've got a good track record of generating new IP. And it's not like everything's in a silo: WB is back to licensing and we're getting Ghostbusters. It's just an...

Which is why they should go with the  real kind of Blumhouse horror this year, one that's a first-party Universal release:

It's a shame First Omen is Disney because that would be a stunning maze.

Halloween Horror Nights 33 (UOR) - Speculation & Rumors

I like Blood Brothers well enough but it was just too close to the classic Leatherface mazes. Chop Top's room was cool but otherwise, it was the same house, same red wall with skulls, same head hit... They should go nuts with TCM. Leatherface in Woodstock. Leatherface in Vietnam. Lean into the...

Halloween Horror Nights 33 (UOR) - Speculation & Rumors

What IP would there be that's relevant and worth the license fee? Maybe Fear Street, which gas a new movie soon, but that wouldn't be a headliner.

Comcast to potentially buy part of Warner/Discovery in future

NBCU technically doesn't have a CEO right now (all top execs report to Comcast President Mike Cavanaugh), so should that particular merger happen, Zaslav would theoretically be in plum position for the CEO role. That having been said, Zaslav has underdelivered on his promises (he continually...

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 (USH) - Speculation & Rumors

Out of curiosity, I looked up what the RE movies did in the US and was shocked by how low the numbers were. Happy Death Day, Ouija and Insidious all managed to outgross all but one of them in the US. People overseas love Milla Jovovich I guess!

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 (USH) - Speculation & Rumors

Gonna devil's advocate Insidious here: I think part of the bad taste in everyone's mouth is that the last maze was during the infamous budget cut year where half of every house was black walls. We haven't seen an Insidious house with a proper high budget yet. It could be fun. Red Door was...

Not really my choice, Deborah Logan was great but Insidious 4 and the Escape Rooms were whatever and didn't really have the wit you want in a ready or not sequel. Curious who's writing/starring though.
