As much as we love to speculate about this stuff, it's easy to forget that it's still just a widget to somebody.
Wanna know if they're doing a ticket-less hub? Just guess how many times in got complained about in a scrum...
I suspect it's more about agile/lean/JIT processes and the general desire for as much flexibility as you can get. Those philosophies very much rule the roost when it comes to modern project management.
As long as there is transportation between the parks, I don't think the location will matter. I'd wager most folks don't even really know where Disney's various resorts are in relation to the parks. They just book based on price/appeal and trust that Disney will get them to the parks.

We've used Instacart and similar services several times without trouble. Like the site says, the hotel itself won't accept groceries. (Not many people do it, but most hotels will accept and hold 'normal' packages for guests.) As long as you're meeting the courier personally, it's no different...
I think we forget too, that when Disneyland opened the media landscape was so different. TV was the only video medium and there were what 5-6 channels? When they put a special on one channel they were saturating as much as 20% of the entire TV spectrum. Assuming their programming was popular...
