Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

I'm not sure what it is, but there's very much a tall pole (or "tailfin") sticking high up from the back of the cars. Of course, this is not an issue from the front car, but if you're seated in the back car it's clearly in the sight line for one and possibly two screens (can't remember for...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Teebin I am no sure who's actually saying this, but they are completely wrong. I've ridden Gringott's now 6 times and I can say without the slightest shadow of doubt that the front car front row is the best for the illusion/immersiveness. There's really no contest here. You're either getting a...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Kevin you should be okay if you sit in the front row. Make sure to ask them to sit in the front row, it's a completely different drop compared to sitting in the very back row.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Slightly off topic but does anyone know what the FJ wait times have been like since DA has been open?

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

None of those rides you mentioned involve humans, and most of them are animation based, so they can get away with it. In the case of Transformers (and also Gringotts, presumably also shot with high frame rate), I think they did a much better job filming with green screen than they did with FJ...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

The FJ blurry screens were "improved" about a year ago, but now it looks even worse in my opinion. Yes it's much sharper and clearer, but it looks super fake CGI now. Can't quite explain it, but the frame rate is almost too quick. My guess is they tried to make the video look extremely realistic...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Speaking of the music, probably the only nit pick complaint I can think of for this amazing ride is the slow crawl to the unloading area with nothing to look at. The first part of this tunnel of nothingness is accompanied with the majestic music which is gorgeous but I believe inappropriate for...

    USF vs IOA

Then you can count it, but then you'd also have to count Jimmy Neutron, which I omitted. The bottom line with IOA, is unless you go all the way to the back where Hogsmeade is (which obviously is brilliant), the park looks and feels exactly like it did when it opened up in 1999. That's a long...

    USF vs IOA

I didn't list Flying Unicorn because I didn't list Gringott's. They are both part of the HP expansions which I cancelled out. Also, I could have counted Jimmy Neutron at USF (which turned into Despicable Me). The Seuss Trolley, does that really count as an "added" attraction? :-)

    USF vs IOA

With all due respect to the amazing theming and detail at IOA, I'm sorry but USF with all their upgrades the last several years has quietly caught up to it. This is a remarkable development, when you consider where USF stood not that long ago. Comparing the two parks' offerings side by side...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Yes I think it was because you were in the back. I noticed it too, and found it easier to hear in the front row.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Not really for Universal dark rides. There are only very subtle differences between front row and back row with rides like Spidey, Mummy, Transformers, etc due to the small size and compact shape of the vehicles. But with Gringotts, due to it having two cars (with some distance in between...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

First time ride, I'd say first row of the first car if possible. MUCH better view of everything, and no heads in the way. But I don't think you can request it (although I haven't tried asking). But the last row of last car is worth it just for the opening scene with the tilting. I swear, the...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Yeah, no scenery is gone to waste on this ride. The only sections where there is no physical set and/or rock work of some kind is during the high speed portions which are purposely done in pitch blackness. I rode two more times today (including one with the glasses off) and I took a good...

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Near the end of the ride , just before the very last screen with Bill Weasley, if you look down below and to the left you can clearly see an opening with track coming out of it. Anyone know what scene of the ride that is for? - - - Updated - - - By the way Gringotts is only 120 right now.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

I might go Monday to see it a 2nd and maybe even a 3rd time if it's not that long. I want one more regular ride and then one without glasses.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

This is EXACTLY what I was talking about earlier in regards to what is film and what is real physical set. When I rode it I swear I thought those vaults were FILM! Everything blends so perfectly in this ride.
