2 day tickets

I'm planning a trip to Universal next summer. It seems that this past summer, 2 days for the price of 1 tickets were offered for most days. Is that typical? Should I plan on two days? Thanks!

2 days for the price of 1 are offered because you only need one day in this park. They would rather count on bonus food/merch from a second day than give a discount on one day.
