From Jan. 24 – 26, 2014, Universal Orlando and Warner Bros. will host “A Celebration of Harry Potter” – an unforgettable experience that invites you to celebrate the beloved Harry Potter books and films! You will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive evening reception at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, enjoy Q&A sessions with Harry Potter talent and filmmakers, learn the art of “duelling” during a wand masterclass, and more!

Just saw this on facebook! I attended the 2011 "Family Home Entertainment Celebration" and it truly was a magical experience! This one looks similar, if not quite as magical (no meet & greets, only desserts at the reception), but the wand master class does sound neat! :) Hoping I can manage to make it to this one too!!

I got an AP email about this. It's included for us. I sure wish they'd come up with a less clunky name.

I haven't gotten this email yet. Can you paste the text here?

The event is technically open to ANYONE with access to the parks those days.... EXCEPT the evening reception and the reserved seating for the special events. I highly doubt that AP holders will get admission to the reception... I think we'll have to purchase the package for that, or to have access to the reserved seating/participation areas.

it seems they are just trying to get people to plan a trip instead of waiting for diagon to open

I did not notice, does this include a movie marathon at Citywalk? I also agree that the name is unwieldy. It would be better if it was Potter and some other word, such as "Potter Fest" or whatever JK and WB would allow.

The wording is strange. It says something about a "film tribute" but doesn't specify what, exactly, that entails. It sounds like it could include a movie marathon...?

^ Having not paid attention, I did not notice that they have apparently not shown a great interest in creating an annual convention-like event. Is the interest just not there, or is this more a decision of WB and/or JKR?

^ Thanks for posting. My word, this sounds about as lame as it gets... wand dueling lessons? yeeesh, watch the movies at home and follow along.

I dunno.... Getting a lesson from someone who choreographed the wand scenes in the movies sounds kinda neat to a diehard HP fan like me. *shrug*

^ I suppose... but this year it's a wand stroke choreographer. In two years will it be a spell speaking specialist? My point is, they should be going the book/fan/illustrator specialist route and not this movie junk. There are many speakers of Tolkien today, I would suppose there are also quite a few speakers Rowling. Does anyone see my point?

Well it is talking about meet and greets with cast members as well. So its not just that.

I have to agree with teebin on this one. We can only hope this is the beginning of something better to come when Diagon Alley opens
