OK, just an opinion (that is what we are here for, right?), but one of the reasons I didn't attend in 2009 and haven't enjoyed myself as much as I did back in the good, old 90s is the HUGE, VAST, SNOOKI-SIZED consumption of alcohol:cheers: at HHNs.

Most of the folks who drink aren't drinking to enjoy an adult beverage, but to lose their inhibitions and act like arses. That's not something I like, and I think UNI largely looks the other way because I can only imagine how much they make on booze sales during the event.

That said, I've noticed a BIG decline in people buying on the nights I've gone the past two years that I can only attribute to the economy. The ability to run up an $80 individual tab while getting blitzed out of of your mind is much tougher when you aren't working or worried about losing the car/house.

I know they are 'dry' in Hollywood. I wonder if it would be better here too.
Sorta like how I much prefer smokeless casinos.

I didn't say it would happen. Just that if it did for many of us it would result in a much more pleasant experience ... right now, it reminds me of attending Miami Dolphins games as a fan (something that hasn't happened since the mid-90s, but still recall all the drunks before they ever enetered the stadium and all the fistfights that broke out).

Of course, they could also choose to have a code of conduct and actually enforce it.

Sure it's an 'adult' event, but if that means yelling 'F-U' to a group of strangers while holding Beer #7 of the night that should get your arse thrown out of the park and threatened with arrest ... just my opinion, natch.

Been going every year since 03, I have never seen any fights or outbursts that would seem offensive.
I don't go looking for them either. I have noticed alot of people being loud and having a good time.
It can be a edgy event in terms of crowd behavior, But that is what makes it FUN!

I would prefer it to be a dry event but that will never happen. I really don't like going through houses/scarezones drunk or even buzzed, I might have 1 beer at best. Last year I saw some lady in line drunk as hell an white as a ghost. I saw it coming she passed out due to over drinking. But yeah they BANK on alcohol sales.

It's a double edged sword, I've seen friends get drunk and be responsible and I've seen individuals be complete and utter idiots. At the end of the day it comes down to personal responsibility and it's not Universal's job to teach that during HHN anymore than it's Disney's job to teach it during Food and Wine.

I dunno. I was at the event for the first time last year and saw no offensive or bad drunks. There were a few people being a bit loud, but they were having fun with it.

Either you're very tolerant, or just very lucky. My experience with drunks last year was horrendous. Between getting kicked and pushed while seated at Bill and Ted's and grown women (50+ mind you), yelling at actors to strip for them... And the SMOKING. I live with a smoker, I am used to it, but she sticks to the smoking areas only. At HHN, not many people do. Getting a mixture of booze and tobacco smoke in my face isn't pleasant. It's not like it detracts from my over all experience to an extent that it ruins my night, but it certainly presents itself as a nuisance.

I've been since '09 and have yet to see any fights or super obnoxious drunks that make me upset or angry. I'm sure it's part luck, but I can't help but feel that the drunken guests are a bit overblown by people. I know before I attended my first event, I was denied for several years by my parents because they thought the crowds were to crazy, rude, and violent. When we finally went in '09, they were shocked at how calm it was compared to their expectations.

Just a fact that smoking areas are thrown out the window at HHNs and HOS... just the way it is.

I have seen some drunks, and college kids acting a fool as well, but not the over exagerations that seems to be the normal HHNs complaint. You can find drunks anywhere they sell alcohol'

I have had WAYYYYY worse experiences with the groups of teens that go during Hell week, than I've ever had with drunks.
Teenagers that think they need to "act all growed up" and curse excessively and just be stupid in general was so annoying I ended up leaving before I planned.
Drunks are out there, bu I have never had any issues with them.

I've never had a problem with drunk people either, but I do hate that people smoke everywhere though :fist:
I know that that's just the way it is, but still, getting a face full of smoke is never fun.
