Used to be easy to get reasonable APH rates at these hotels, but the past year it's been near impossible. Any other tricks to getting a decent rate at one of these hotels?

It's gotten really tough this past year, or so. They don't even have Stay More Save More always available at all hotels like they used to, and the number of value rate weeks has been greatly diminished.
They're not as bad as WDW, but they're getting there, especially with the Express hotels. Parks are so crowded, especially under capacity USF, that it seems like everyone is trying to get a deluxe hotel for
a night or two to beat the lines. Maybe they should require a minimum 3 or 4 night stay at a deluxe to get the hotel express pass?

So far, it's looking like the crowds are not slowing down so far. I was expecting a downturn by now but completely surprised by how busy the parks are. If these trends continue, they need to expedite some serious capacity projects to IOA & USF.

Missing those <$100 Cabana Bay rates lol

Sure looking like the economy is remaining strong....and many economic predictors are starting to back off of their recession predictions. So many low income workers getting much better hourly/liveable
wages, due to a labor shortage, sure seems to be spurring the economy.

Totally agree. Since the stand alone express passes have increased so much with the increased crowds, it has forced the prices at the big three hotels to skyrocket, especially on weekends. Other than requiring 3 or 4 day
minimum stays to address the issue, they could either discount the weekend days when a minimum stay or 5 or more days is booked, or go back to Stay More Save More to offset the super high weekend rates.
by reducing the premium they get for the weekend dates caused by locals booking one day the get two days of express. In December, we booked Adventura for the weekend and then moved to Portofino for the
next 5 days. Was not worth the aggravation for us.
