68% drop weekend-to-weekend. This is a huge drop but what makes it even worse is that literally had nothing else opening against it this week. Had a major film opened behind it (like in summer) it could've been up to a 75% drop off. It also slipped from #1 to #4 in China over the weekend:

I bet Disney is kicking themselves for not opening Jungle Book this weekend.

I bet Disney is kicking themselves for not opening Jungle Book this weekend.

On the contrary. Disney is happy to let Zootopia continue to mop up. After two more weeks, Jungle Book will open big right as Zootopia is fading. Two Disney movies in the top ten. With Civil War right around the corner. Gonna be a bloodbath with one major bomb (Alice is tracking horribly).

Reports coming in that WB is squashing it's expensive original films to focus on their "pillars": DC, HP, and Lego. Basically, they were counting on BvS to recoup the losses of their flops (Pan, Jupiter Rising, In the Heart of the Sea) and then some. Out of panic, they're doubling down on the DCEU and stepping in to make sure the creative process is reigned in, at the expense of original films.

If The Boss beats BvS this weekend.... Woof.

Between The Boss and Zootopia's ever-strong hold, it's going to be a close one. With the reviews that Jungle Book is getting (100% on RT with a 7.4/10), next week is going to be a bloodbath.

Remember that this film was supposed to open on the same day as Civil War? Can you imagine how poorly it would've performed down the stretch? It's struggling (relatively speaking) with no challengers whatsoever.

Remember when Avenguers: AoU was slightly criticized for not breaking opening weekend numbers and not doing well as its predecessor? Waiting to see the fanboys defend BvS's performance even more now.

Zack Snyder was a terrible choice for the DCEU...and Goyer needs to be pulled from writing anything superhero related.

That being said, Affleck was pretty good as Batman and Gal Gadot surprised me as Wonder Woman.

(I'm still hooked on Nolan's Trilogy)

He was fine to lead 1 franchise, but to be the basis of their whole foundation....

Hindsight is 20/20, but they should have had Superman sequel first with Batman solo coming 6 mos after, and finale of Batman be beginning of BvS which comes out next year.

That was the initial plan. But then WB feared that MoS 2 could pull a ASM 2 and kill the franchise in the midst of planning. So they overreacted and demanded BvS.

WonderWoman moved up from June 23 to June 2. Two new untitled dc movies as well. Most likely a Ben Afleck batman and Shazam. Suicide Squad re-shoots also confirmed and rumored to be adding more humor/action.

I heard about that. Apparently the marketing team realized how good Deadpool's marketing was going and tried to mimic it with the material they had. The trailer was a nice concise taste of all the humour featured in the pre-reshoots film.

Shazam is already on the schedule, the 2019 movie is probably Suicide Squad 2 or a Superman movie

Technically, only Wonder Woman and JL had OFFICIAL release dates. This could be a Batman film, but more likely it's a reshuffling of Aquaman and The Flash.

If Batman was coming, it'd be in 2019. 2018 is too early as they haven't been developing it at all.

The new untitled dc movies is in addition to the Flash and Aquaman in 2018 and Shazam and Justice League part 2 in 2019. So three in 2018 and three in 2019.
