Here's something interesting...

In the Tampa Tribune today, there was an article about the drop in attendence. However, there was an interesting quote from Gerard Hoeppner, senior director of global communications for Busch Entertainment Corp.
"But we are optimistic for 2010, with the opening of our Sesame Street attraction in March, and we will have a new attraction in the park before the middle of June."

What could it be?

Article here.

I think he is referring to whatever is going into the Clydesdale area, but that could be different.

Also, is that work going into the Stanly ville Theater for anything known or is the removal of the last show's set?

New photo update over at Florida Thrills. The construction seems to be moving extremely fast so far.

Major thanks to everyone over at Florida Thrills, Behind the Thrills and JohnnyUpsideDown for all of the great daily updates thus far. They've really been convienent, helpful and strongly appreciated!

New update over at Florida Thrills:

It looks like they are clearing out the electricity and pipes from the trench area. There is now a dump truck onsite, so I would hope to see some actual digging soon after those pipes and wires are moved. They have already started laying the train track down, they were working from Rhino Rally towards the station. More survey crews were out, they were taking out some of the old markers and putting new ones down. Word is Rhino Rally's water portion is going down "very soon." They have started to put up a wooden fence/barricade thing directly to the right of the fork in the road where you go to either the water portion, or back to the station. I have a few pictures uploading but nothing earth shattering.

Here is the photo update for today: http://www.bgtguide.com/bgt/project2011/photosapril29

New information from @FLallday today:
Busch Team Member: "They have let us know that a new coaster is coming sometime in the next year. Skyride will have to be down for a year."

"No idea what coaster design it will be. Only info is that they're shooting for the longest coaster in the Southeast." Grain of salt!

On another note, Scorpion is once again open.

From Ratmead at Florida Thrills:

Word is rhino rally water portion is closed for good. They are full on digging with the big backhoe now. There is hole that is getting bigger by the minute where the train bridge will go. Also they are pretty close to retracking the station.

"The water portion is no longer part of the ride" per guest information.

RIP Wet Portion of Rhino Rally 2001-2010 :'(

Still excited for the coaster though, and still excited to see progress. :)

Behind the thrills is reporting that Nightshade Toy Factory and Reconstruction are being moved to new locations. Nightshade makes sense because the new coaster is supposed to have a station in the skyride building, but what's going on with Akbar's old queue? Maybe the rumored cheetah exhibit?

Just put up several new updates at www.bgtguide.com

Thanks for the update, I check by literally everyday now and really appreciate the updates I know it involves quite a bit of work sometimes. And Kumba really needed the TLC glad to see its getting it before the busy season.
