CityWalk Orlando Updates & Changes General Thread

You just went ahead and asked them? I guess you just don't know yet that it has to be kicked around for a few days, outlandish predictions of the outcome made, furious debate on the exact wording of the notice and a couple of "disney doesn't have to do this" posts.

It's OK Padawan you will learn.

Just kidding welcome to the boards.....

So at security they check IDs? Anyway, I think this is good, especially since my take is that younger people are more likely to cause trouble for tik tok dares. I'd say they should do this for HHN too, though I find that the bigger problem at HHN is people in their early twenties who get drunk. Anyway, in any case the good thing with Uni is that we really have good security, and that one incident was really an exception.

That's where it occurred for me at about 9:30 last night, with someone on a microphone and guards saying 21+. So pretty much not at all what the official Twitter is saying - based on how they run the garages, crossed wires between what they're supposed to be doing and what they're actually doing would be zero surprise whatsoever.

Honestly, I don’t mind this policy being implemented. What I do mind is this policy being implemented without any formal announcement. I get that it’s better PR, enabling them to let it slide under the radar, but it’s terrible practice for guests.

Sad that a few ruin it for the 1000s that do behave. We just visited in June and my 13 year old and 17 year old managed 4 days there without causing any trouble. Many times we left back to the hotel early or left them alone while we walked around. What is security going to do if a teen refuses to leave? I can't imagine they are going to put hands on them for violating what is basically a trespass at that time.

I would just tell my kids if stopped to say they are going to the movies.

Security will, absolutely, physically remove you from the premises.

I get that people are upset, but they used to enforce this policy during the late aughts. I’m, frankly, a touch surprised they ever stopped.

I don't think anyone is pro-let-the-17-year-old-rabble-rousers-into-CityWalk, but it was not communicated, not implemented correctly when they tried, clogs up the rotunda right as there's a double park dump, and will be in place for nine more days. As someone who would literally make a point to sit on the corner of the Fossil store to watch the security sweep in the late aughts, it isn't the same.

I'll be the first one to stand up and cheer if they boot under 18s during HHN - every night, not just Fri-Sun.

So you don't want Aiello's son to be able to go to HHN? You monster

Maybe my post wasn't clear. You are OK with security putting hands on a teenager if they don't leave? I really don't think if my 13 year old was on CItywalk that they would put hands on to remove them.

In this instance, wouldn’t it be okay if they are staying at an on-site hotel? Or am I misunderstanding the policy?

You are correct about the onsite and I can see allowing a teen plus to hang at CW I can't see an 8yo wandering around. I would think there should be a minimum for the onsites

Did I say I’m okay with it? I didn’t, because I’m not. I was saying security would have little qualm dragging someone out if they needed to.

Security isn't putting hands on anyone because they can't. But what they can do is get law enforcement involved and they can be escorted by a police officer.
That's what I am trying to say. And how are they going to verify the validity of the hotel keys. Do they have scanners or something? I just think it will be a problem. And having dealt with the security there, theya re a little rude.
