Console Gaming (General)

Disney will be thrilled that EA have cancelled yet another SW game, EA almost lost the license after the whole Battlefront II fiasco and this wont help their standing within Disney at all.

It's in the end, likely going to ride on the Respawn title this year to determine what happens next IMO.

This is..an interesting read, and it makes me wonder if it means that it's going back to a more..linear game than prior

In the realm of fighting games..

Mortal Kombat 11 was revealed last week properly, with gameplay shown off.

Arc System Works has also been working quietly, as Season 2 of DBFZ is being revealed.

Additionally, ArcSys is releasing a Arcade version of Blaz Blue: Cross Tag Battle with new characters (to be added to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC in new patches). Also, rumors are starting to swirl around the next major ArcSys Game outside of Granblue, is a Persona 5 Arena title to be revealed at Evo Japan.

To give a update..

Darkest Dungeon 2 is now in development

XBOX Game Pass is slaying further this month, with the announcements of Alien Isolation coming to the streaming service

And Google is finally going to address the elephant in the room of their in-development gaming streaming service in March.

...oh, and a small little game called Hollow Knight: Silksong has been unveiled, as a sequel to the critical hit.

This means..a lot, for the industry.

It's gonna change how things are done for Nintendo, and it makes me curious to see how Bowser handles the current status of the platform.

Particularly, how he handles Nintendo's relationship with Microsoft, especially if XBG is coming.

From Gematsu, the Playstation Vita has ceased production in Japan.

CD Project Red will also be at E3 this year to showcase Cyberpunk 2077.

And finally, Gearbox Software will be at PAX East, revealing all new projects and surprises.

From Destructoid:

Gearbox is now teasing the Pax East panel, where Borderlands 3 is likely finally getting revealed:

Meanwhile, from Google:

And at GDC, Microsoft will have the leaked panel of Xbox Live..and a panel on xCloud.

Xbox Live - 12:30pm - 1:30pm (March 20th)
xCloud - 10:00am - 11:00am (March 21st)

EDIT: Halo is coming to Steam:

The first major Microsoft title released prior exclusively to XBOX and PC, Cuphead; is making it's way to Nintendo Switch.

This is massive news for the industry, as rumors have indicated of Ori coming to Nintendo Switch; with the assistance of THQNordic. And as things advance, King Zell from Resetera has seemingly also hinted towards the potential of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to hit Nintendo Switch in the near future. And from what it seems, NewSabiWabi is hearing of Rare Replay hitting.

Coupled with the news on xCloud potentially hitting Nintendo Switch as one of the available platforms (and Cuphead having Achievements on Switch later on), this is a massive statement for the industry. Two icons of gaming; are now seemingly working together to bring more of gaming, to one device. And with the potential of xCloud, the sky is the limit for what might be unfolding for Nintendo Switch for streaming capabilities of games not suitable on it's own for the console to handle.
